Hello all! Here is another of the images from the Vintage rides set from The Angel Company.

I got out my Niji water brush and watercolors and played around a bit on this. I so need to practice and I just drool over some of the cards and images I've seen using this medium.

The clouds are cut from white cardstock (PTI die) and the Happy birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts. I popped up the cloud with the birthday sentiment using some foam tape. The yellow background is a thin piece of construction paper that I had in my stash. I really like how it sets off the watercolored blue background.

For just playing around I'm really pleased with how this turned out. It'll make a great Birthday card for a boy!

Relax

Hey everyone. This is another new image that I got from TAC. Loving the sentiment on this collage!

I decided to dust off my chalks to color this collage in. It came out pretty muted and I think I'll do it different next time around. It's a bit brighter in real life and didn't photograph real well.

A wood back ground stamp is used on the brown along with some versamark and some clear embossing powder.

Finally twine is tied around it a few times for some detailed interest. Blue and kraft cardstock is from PTI.

Hey everyone! Here is another one of the images from Vintage rides which is a new set from The Angel Company.

I tired to color the "Chevy" with the colors that were popular back in the day. Do you think I came close? Gotta love those Copic markers!

I used some glossy accents on the windows and love how it turned out! The designer paper in the back is Amberlee Grace from TAC.

Feel better in color

Hi everyone! I had some time to play around with an inspiration piece for this month's PTI blog hop. As a matter of fact, I did it over several times before I was happy with the end result.

Here is the inspiration piece.

Here is what I eventually came up with.

I started with glossy cardstock and applied direct to paper Ranger distress inks in Scattered straw, Wild honey and Spiced marmalade.

The flower silhouette is from the Life set and the sentiment is from Asian Fusion. All stamped in Ranger Archival ink.

The cornice border punch from Martha Stewart Crafts is used on the right side. I actually cut off about two inches of the main image, then punched the border and re-attached. The seam is hidden under the grosgrain ribbon.

Butterfly is punched out of black cardstock and the glossy cardstock. I had done so many of the color combinations with stamps, etc. that I just used one of the discarded pieces to punch out the butterfly. Black one is glued on and the orange one is popped up using foam tape. Designer paper is from Memory Box.

Hello! Another new image and sentiment from The Angel Company to share with you today.

This set is called Vintage Rides and I colored the scooter with a Copic Ciao marker in YG03. I stamped both the image and the sentiment in Black Archival ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I just love the coverage the Archival ink gives!

Designer paper is called Hip Hop from The Angel Company. I used the smallest scallop die from Quikutz to cut out the border under the main image. I decided to add the stitching border punch at the last minute, but I'm pleased with the effect!

Overall, just a clean and simple card for either sex.

Are you ready for another look at a new stamp set? This one tickled me pink - pun intended! This set is called Mama Wants!

This classy lady reminded my of Marilyn Monroe, thus I gave her the blonde hair! Snort! She's colored up with Copic's, stardust pens and a white gel pen.

Designer paper is Rustic Chic from The Angel Company. Black satin ribbon is tied with the Bow Easy and the three pearls are from Kaisercraft.

While making the bow, I grabbed the first roll of satin ribbon that I found in my stash. Big yuk! It's so flimsy that it wouldn't make a decent bow for anything and it was the expensive stuff, too! So, I pulled out my Ribbons and Bows Oh My black satin and tied one up smoothly. I think I got this one on sale for cheap too! I just got a chuckle out of this, because my husband is always telling me "you get what you pay for." Well, in this case, No.

Chairs to you!

Hi everyone! Here's a sneak peak at a new stamp set that will be available soon at The Angel Co. Our new catty goes live at the end of this week! Sadly, I have to wait for my copy to be mailed to me. However, I was able to order a few of the new sets, so here's the first one.

This is from the new set called Chair-ished. The chair is stamped in Archival ink by Ranger and then heat embossed with clear powder. Copic markers in V15 and V17 used to color the cushions. This chair is so royal looking that I decided to go the purple route!

Designer paper is from TAC, but it's a retired collection called Genevieve. Teal back ground cardstock is from DCWV.

The sentiment is stamped in Palette Noir and then cut out using a die from Verve. I added some tiny black rhinestones from Kaisercraft on the ends.

Dandy note

Hello! I got a few cards completed yesterday finally. I tend to stamp a bunch of images and set them aside, then come back to them later. This is one of them.

Stamps are from the PTI anniversary set called Botanical Silhouettes. Stamped in Palette Jardin Moss, Noir and Fresh Snow on kraft cardstock. I used a stardust pen to highlight the tips of the dandylion. Used a dauber and fresh snow ink to ink up the edges.

Green cardstock is from Bazzill and the gingham designer paper is from A Muse. Tied a bow using the Bow Easy out of black satin ribbon for the right side of the card. Used a few glue dots to get it to lay just right and not cover up the sentiment.

Fairy

Hey everyone! I completed this card a while ago, but I'm not feeling it and was very reluctant to post.

Fairy is a digi stamp from The Digi Design House and is colored with Copic's, stardust pen and some stickles.

Designer paper is from Hot Off The Press and layered with black cardstock. I think I even colored the satin ribbon with Copic's. It's been that long since I completed this that I can't remember! LOL. Paper pierced the corners for some interested because I think the card is pretty blah, even though the designer paper has a bit of texture to it.

What do you think is needed here? New sketch/layout? More bling? Like I said, I'm not feeling it! Thanks for stopping in!

Greetings! We had a wonderful time camping! I find it totally pathetic that my 5 month old puppy was better behaved than the 8 year old boy camping next to us. Wow! Times sure have changed! If I had said what this kid did to my parents, I would've been blowing bubbles! As in having my mouth washed out with soap! Sure, we sassed our parents but not to the level that kids these days do! Unbelievable!

OK, enough ranting! Here's my latest card.

This is done with one of the smaller flowers from the Year of flowers collection from PTI. I randomly stamped the flower in Fresh snow ink from Palette onto kraft cardstock. The leaves are colored with a Copic marker and then I used pink creme chalk on the flowers. In real life they sparkle a bit! However it didn't photograph real well!

Hounds tooth designer paper is from Making Memories, which is layered with green cardstock from Bazzill. I added four self adhesive gold pearls to the corners to anchor it down. The card actually measures 5 x 5 and I used ivory for the base.

Queen Anne's lace

Hi everyone! I'm off on a camping trip and have scheduled this to post in my absence. Here's a card I did for a challenge to scrunch, fold, wrinkle etc. your ribbon.

The ribbon is actually seam binding that I colored with E50 Egg shell and then scrunched it up after it dried a bit.

Stamp is from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous line and stamped in Vintage Cream ink from Palette. Cut with the oval nesties and then layered with an ivory scalloped oval. The kraft cardstock on the left is embossed with the linen embossing plate from PTI. Designer paper is from Daisy D's that I've had in my stash for a while. I have got to start using more designer paper - it's coming out of my @**, er I mean ears! Sorry for the profanity! But it's true - I have got so much of it and I really don't use it! What is wrong with me? Am I a hoarder?

Birthday card for the boss

Or I should say, the bosses boss!

His birthday was this past Wednesday and we had our semi-annual business review meeting. So, of course we brought in a cake and helped him celebrate.

He's a huge fly fisherman and here is the clean and simple card I came up with for him.


Designer paper is from my stash and I have no clue who makes it. I've had it for at least 8 years! The fly is a stamp from a set called Gone Fishin' from See D's that went out of business a while back. I stamped it with Archival ink onto the cork and let it dry before giving it a bit of color with Copic markers.

Kraft cardstock is used as the base of the card and Black used to layer everything.

So, do you think an Executive VP that lives to fish will like this?

Another inspiration card

Hello! I was recently sitting in the dentist office waiting to be called back for my routine cleaning and thumbing through a past issue of Martha Stewart's Living magazine. I found this really nice comforter and immediately thought it would make a great card!

Here's how it turned out!

Stamped are from Papertrey Ink and stamped in Pure Poppy, Fresh Snow and Dark Chocolate inks from Palette.

Ivory cardstock is used as the base for the card. Using the new scalloped die from Memory Box, I cut a piece of pure poppy cardstock and then layered it on top of a piece of chocolate brown.

Tag punch used to create the sentiment tag and attached behind the brown grosgrain ribbon bow.
