Thanks a bunch

Hi there! Here is my take on the tic-tac-toe challenge over at The Paper Players.

I stamped this wonderful daffodil image from Technique Tuesday's Greenhouse Society in Versafine ink and heat set it using clear embossing powder. Colored it using Copic markers onto Neenah 120# cardstock. I think I'm liking this paper for Copic's now as it appears that the Copic markers don't soak into the paper as much.

Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. Die is from Project life as is the main panel that the daffodils is on.

Dragonfly die is from Memory Box. I cut the body out of black cardstock and the wings are cut out of shimmery vellum.

So, for the tic-tac-toe, I went vertically down the left using Flowers, die cuts and yellow.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hang in there

Hi all! Here is my card using two challenges today. They worked really well together, so it was easy to combine them.

At Less is more it is lucky dip week and they want us to create something "down under" in honor of guest designer Kylie who is from Australia.

At the Friday Mashup they want us to use a monkey or zoo animal. Well, I dug through all my stamps and finally found the set I was looking for from the former Angel Company called Wild Animals.

The sentiment is also from TAC but from another set entirely, but it goes very well with this. I did fussy cut the monkey out as he is originally on a tag.

Leaves colored with Copic markers using G93 and G99. Monkey is done using E30, E31, E35 and E37. I also cut up some foam tape and adhered it to the back so that I could pop him up.

ETA: entering this into SSS anything goes Wednesday challenge.
ETA: entering this into the Crazy 4 Challenges down under challenge.

That is it for today. Thanks for dropping in!

Watercolor flowers

Hi everyone! I don't know what to make of it, but I have lost 4 "followers" in a day. I know that google is doing some weird things with blogger, but it sure is disappointing to see my numbers going down instead of up. If you've been following me for a while, I thank and appreciate you!

OK, on to the watercolor creation for today. This is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketch and the Red challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

I stamped this trio of outline flowers from the Vintage Linen set from Papetrey, Ink onto Ranger watercolor paper. Then it is heat embossed using fine white embossing powder.

Ranger distress ink in Festive Berries used to watercolor in the flowers and the back ground is done in Blueprint sketch distress ink.

Hello word die is cut out of black cardstock an then popped up using little tiny bits of foam tape.

This is the first time I played around with this technique and I got to say that I kind of like the look of it. Watercoloring is not a technique I feel I do well. It must be the perfectionist in me, feeling it's just not "finished" or something.

Thanks so much for stopping in. Let me know what you think of my watercolor creation - I need some encouragement or corrective feedback!

Crocus

Hi everyone! For those of you affected by the blizzard, I hope that you are safe and snuggled up in your homes getting crafty. I had some time today and decided to play around with the new Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society stamp.

I struggled finding the best purple combo for coloring this lovely stamp up. Ended up using the following Copic markers: B60, BV02, BV17, YG63 and YG67.

Once I got it colored and cut out (per sketch challenge below from the paper players) I then began to panic on finding matching cardstock to layer and designer paper to go with. I got super lucky and found both and this is now very monochromatic.

Cardstock was found in my Hot Off The Press stash of 6 x 6 papers. The designer paper is Kaisercraft. Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps.

Added some clear dew drops to give this a bit more interest. I have no idea which company they came from, as they're in a clear zip lock baggy in my embellishment drawer.

Thanks for visiting!

Tank you

OK, I'm back again today with another challenge card. Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge is to create a card with critters on it, and use Lawn Fawn stamps if you have them. Well, the Fintastic Friends stamp set is the first one I came across in my stash of stamps and here is what I did with it.

Colored with Copic's, fussy cut out and popped up with foam tape.

I believe the turquoise cardstock is from Bazzill, as it's been in my stash for a long time. I really like how well it matched the water in the tank.

I'm not sure if fish qualify as "critters" but I'm going for it anyway. Kept this clean and simple and love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be happy

Hello. I saw this sketch come across Facebook for CASe this sketch and really liked it. Here is what I did with it.

The leaf stem stamp is from an oldie but goody set from the former Angel Company, called Deco Designs. I stamped it in gumdrop green dye ink from My Favorite Things.

Sentiment stamp is from Avery Elle. I used a piece of green cardstock that matched the ink from Bazzill to layer the sentiment panel and the outside edge, before adhering to a white card base. Hero Arts metallic flat brads used on the ends of the sentiment panel.

The ladybug is made using Viva Perlen Pens in black and red. Just squeezed a blob of each color out in the form of a ladybug onto a piece of acetate and let dry. Then added the black spots and antennae using a black gel pen. If I would have been paying attention to the sentiment, a Bee would have been a better choice. LOL. Oh well. Here is an up close picture of the ladybug. thanks for stopping by.

Birthday balloons

Hello! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch paired with the color challenge over at Just us Girls.

I made up a back ground using some re-inkers in shades of blue. Then cut out some balloons using the die from Papertrey, Ink. I did add a border around the balloons using the darkest blue ink and a finger dauber.

Added a few strings using some blue bakers twine and tied a bow.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink and the dark blue cardstock is from Bazzill.

This one came together pretty quickly and kept it CAS.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day.

With all my love!

Hello! Here is my take on two challenges today. First up, I took the sketch over at Sunday Stamps and then worked the CAS Valentine challenge into it from The Paper Players.

I used a die to create the top of the card, then stamped it with the houndstooth back ground stamp from My Favorite Things. Added a bit of ink around the edges of it to make it stand out a bit more. Ink and red paper is pure poppy from Papertrey, Ink.

Red heart is cut from the dog paw heart die set from Paper
Smooches. I love that it's not perfect. The little hearts are cut from the Shakers and Sprinkles set from PTI and glued on.

Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Seaside

Hello. I hope this finds everyone doing well and getting inky or crafty. Here is something that I created a while ago but never got around to posting. Why, I don't know, because I'm pretty proud of it.

This is done on a 5 x 7 canvas using Faber Castell Gelatos.

I applied the gelatos direct to the canvas and then used a paint brush and lots of water to blend the colors around.

To get the sea foam, I used a stylus and Copic Opaque white to build it up. Sea gull is hand drawn in using a Copic Multi liner pen.

I plan to one day get this framed so that I can hang it in my office. That way when I get stressed about work I can look at the picture and image myself at the seaside!

Thanks for stopping in!

CAS sympathy card

Hi everyone! Time to schedule some post to automatically go, as I'm working this next week at convention.

Here is a very clean and simple, classic black and white sympathy card.

The silhouette is done using Versafine ink and the flower stamp from the LJD Peaceful Wildflowers set from My Favorite Things.

Sympathy sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

Added this to a black card base and then inserted a white area inside the card for writing on.

Sympathy cards are so hard to make that sometimes it's easier just to keep things clean and simple. Thanks for stopping in.

Anniversary flourish

Hi everyone! Here is my take on two challenges today. Less is More is only layer wee with a flourish and Just Us Girls, it's trend week and they want metals or metallics.

I have several flourish stamps, but couldn't decide which on to work with. My mojo was not in gear at first. I had a lot of cool ideas, I was just having a hard time executing those ideas.

Finally decided on a old retired Angel Company swirl stamp. Stamped it in Versamark and then used gold embossing powder and heat embossed.

Anniversary sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I tried to get a good picture that showed off the gold embossing, but was only successful at showing off the top portion. Oh, well. In real life it's very pretty.
