Hi everyone! Up with the birds on this fine Sunday and had a chance to whip up a card for this weeks flower theme challenge over at Less is more.
Flower stamp is a two step set from Rubberneckers. I used distress markers and spritzed with water to get the water color effect. Sentiment is from Verve.
I just picked up this wonderful burlap border die from Cherry Lynn Designs. It reminds me more of magic mesh than burlap though. I cut it out of white cardstock and then used scattered straw distress dye to color it. To get it to stick I used dry adhesive called wacky tack from K&Company. I think I'll try using a glue stick next time so that it will adhere better.
Well, I'm off to hop around some blogs to see what everyone else has been creating. Have a creative day and thanks for stopping in!
ETA: Just saw that the Paper Players have a CAS flower challenge as well - so added this to it.
Love that burlap die and it just works with the image. Sharp against the soft w/c effect. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I like and it does remind me of the wallboard tape we used to use. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous flower stamp, gorgeous colours too. Thanks for coming to visit me! xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely Laurie.
ReplyDeleteIf I have a fiddly die-cut to adhere I usually put double sided tape on the back of the card before running it through the die-cutting machine. All I need to do then is peel and stick!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

ReplyDeleteYour burlap border certainly enhances that flower image ... not that it needs it. Superb colour effect with fun and summer shades.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part

I think the die looks more like mesh, too, but who cares, I love the mesh look and it goes perfectly with your GORGEOUS flowers, Laurie! I just got some of those Rubbernecker stamps at a Stamping Expo and LOVE them. Your coloring is magnificent on these! Have a great day! Hugs, Darnell
