Card Sketch #31 - Tree Silhouettes
Here is card sketch #31.....wow the numbers keep adding up! This is a simple one thats great for it's versatility.
I started off with green cardstock and added some craft cardstock as the top layer. The image is done on white and layered with green CS and red bling by bazzill. The tree silhouette image is from Inkadinkado (called silhouettes) and stamped in colorbox warm green chalk ink. I stamped the image once and then stamped it again, as I did in the previous sketch. I then added some glitter bling to the trees with my stardust pen from Sakura. Can't ya tell I just love this stamp set?!
I stamped the sentiment in the same ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then added ribbon and thought that it needed a little more, so added the bow at the last minute. I also did a little paper piercing in the corners. Overall, I think this card will be great for guy, kind of masculine in it's appearance, except for the bow.
I'm in Richland, Washington for two weeks of training for my new job. I was expecting to see some snow driving over Snoqualamie pass, but nothing yet. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way until after I have to drive home! So, as you can tell, I've done up a few sketches and cards to share while I'm away. Stay tuned......

Card Sketch #30 - Silver Shadow
Here is sketch #30!
I found some new stamps from Inkadinkado called silhouettes and had to put them to use for this one.
I used my marvy mega square punch to punch three squares and then rounded the corners. I thought to do something a little different with the squares and taped them together before stamping. I stamped the tree in Palette jardin moss, stamped it off once to create the shadow effect and repeated till I filled all three squares.
I stamped the Holiday sentiment in versamark and embossed with silver ep. I also added a rim of silver embossing around the squares. I added some sparkle to the tree's with my stardust gel pen from Sakura. Silver ribbon finishes off the card.
Have a great weekend everyone!

The Angel Company has released their 2007 retired list of stamps that will not appear in the Spring 2008 catalogue. Below is this list.
They are also a few favorite paper collections that will be retiring as well and are on clearance. Bella Flor and Kaleidoscope Brites are now $10.00!
The paper that I have pictured below are now $3.50 each!

Card Sketch #29 - In the Meadow
Here is sketch #29. I found this very cute snowman stamp at my LSS and fell in love! The stamp is by Great Impressions, and they happen to be located about 30 miles from my home. :-) I believe that I've mentioned that they have an outlet location at their factory in an earlier post. Ok, getting back to the sketch......
I put a piece of white cardstock through my cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder, and used that for the background. The base is dark blue cardstock from Archiver's. I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes in versamark and used fine white embossing powder to emboss.
Snowmen are colored with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I also used my stardust pen from sakura to highlight portions of the mufflers, etc. For the pompom on the left snowman's hat, I used my quickie glue pen and some fine glitter.
Both of the small panels are popped up with dimensional tape. By the way, I have to put in a plug for Cornish Heritage Farms glacier white detail embossing powder. This is the best stuff on the market in my honest opinion. I have tried several other brands of white embossing powder and none of them stack up to this!

Snowmen - Great Impressions

Card Sketch #28 Eeek!
Happy Halloween! Here is my latest card sketch that I made around this fun holiday!
Card base is basic black cardstock, the designer paper is by Karen Foster which I got free for spending over $50 at Archivers (don't ya just love getting things for FREE?). The black scalloped punch is done in black bling from Bazzill, and then I added another orange cardstock scalloped punch. The bat and spider stamps are from The Angel Company called fall sampler, and are stamped in Palette Noir. I distressed the circle edges to add some dimension and interest. I stamped the Eeek (also from The Angel Company) in versamark and embossed it with clear EP. It might be hard to see, but it's in the lower right hand corner.

Card Sketch #27
Here's card sketch #27! I did make some adjustments to this when I designed the card. I originally had photo corners made from a cuttlebug die on the card, but felt that they were too much and took them off.
The card base is grey cardstock is from Archivers. The designer paper is from The Crafters Workshop called "Enchanted Complements".
Stamps used are from Stampin' Up - priceless. I stamped the butterfly in colorbox chalk ink twice. Cut out one set and popped them up with dimensionals. I distressed the edges of the panels with Palette burnt umber.
I'm not real happy with the color ink I used for the butterflies. I had a hard time finding a close matching ink that went with the designer paper, and ended up settling with what you see here.
I'm going out to the Mall of America in Minneapolis tonight. I went once already, but just barely touched the surface of this huge four level mega shopping mall. This place is just awesome! This time I'm taking my camera so that I can take some pictures of the amusement park that's in the center of the mall. I just love it when I can mix business with pleasure!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Candi tagged me. You can visit her blog here.
The NAME GAME. The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.
Ok, here it goes:
L - Loving my husband and my stamping hobby!
E - Enjoying the new friends that I have made within the last six weeks.
I - Imagining going home to warmer weather than here in Minneapolis!
G - Greatfull for my family and friends.
H - Happy in my new job.
People I am tagging: none of these are associated with the spelling of my middle name, because I didn't want to take or have the time to find new blogs. I just don't have time right now....LOL

Card Sketch #26
Well, I tried out my new Papertrey Ink stamps on this card sketch. The name of the set is called Take a bough, and are very fun to work with. Lots of possibilities!
Red bling paper is from Hot off the Press (by paper wishes) as well as the green holiday designer paper and the big brad and rub on's. I used the white big brad as a Christmas ornament ball and then I rubbed the sentiment right on the brad. I distressed the edges of the main panel with Palette ink in burnt umber.
Inks used were Palette burnt umber and colorbox warm green chalk ink and silver pigment ink.
I hope these card sketches are offering some of you inspiration, and if they are, please leave me some feedback. What do you like, what don't you like, so that I know what I can do better for the future! Have a great week!

Card Sketch #25 - Flutter
Now that I'm back home and unpacking just about everything (you should have seen my mail. Lots of magazines, stamps and junk mail, what a mountain...lol) I whipped up a few cards based on some of my sketch designed I did on my road trip.
Stamps used: Flutter by, The Angel Company. Sentiment by impression obsession. I colored the butterflies and the back ground leaves using my prismacolor pencils and OMS. I did mask the main image.
I used some of the cardstock I picked up at Archivers while I was in Denver for the mats and card base. I used my crop-a-dile to add eyelets in orange on the tag and the right side of the card. The main panel is popped up using dimensionals as is the tag.
The Angel Company just came out with their new Fall Supplement. I have included a link to view the stamp sets on the right side. This year, we have something for just about everyone, from cute to retro, we have it all. So, stop by and take a peak at the offerings!
