I went down the middle of the grid.
I used a piece of thin metal from Ranger to emboss the gears. Then I applied alcohol inks and washed it out using blending solution. It took a lot of rubbing things around to get a good coat of color into the nooks and crannies. I used the vertical Happy Birthday #6104W stamp and layered the metal piece with black cardstock. Love this look for a guy card.
