Hugs

Hello everyone! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch, which I'm pairing with two other challenges out there too. I know the hydrangea is a bit large for the sketch, but I decided to go for it anyway.

Stamp and die are new from Ellen Hutson called Mondo Hydrangea. I used shaded lilac distress ink direct to paper. Then stamped the flower with Versamark and heat embossed using white embossing power. Then I took a round paint brush and lightened some of the petals by adding water. Thanks to Jennifer McGuire for the technique.

Added some yellow liquid pearls for the centers. Leaves are die cut out of green cardstock and glued around the hydrangea. Grosgrain ribbon is from my stash that I've had like forever.

Hugs sentiment is new and from Wplus9. I stamped it versafine then heat embossed with clear before running it through the dot embossing folder from We R memory keepers, giving it a subtle texture.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is touchy feely (add texture) and Darnell is having another NBUS challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
