Little Green Mini

Hello! I hope your having a great weekend! Here's mini thank you card I whipped up quickly for a friend and had to share.


The lime green designer paper is from The Angel Company and has lots of red, green and yellow distress features throughout.

The stamps are a Purchase with Purchase set from TAC. It's a cute little set that can be used for a lot of different things - very versatile. I stamped the flowers in VersaMagic inks in red magic, mango and thatched straw randomly on the card stock. Added the leaves in VersaMagic tea leaves and then finished off with a grosgrain ribbon and bow.

Just because

Hello all! Here's a card I whipped up late last night for SCS's Wednesday card sketch challenge.

 

No designer paper was used for once! I made the back ground vines out of the Turning a new leaf stamp set from Papertrey Ink. The butterflies are also from PTI new set called Butterfly dreams. 

The butterflies are colored with Prisma color pencils and blended with OMS. I cut them out and popped them up on foam tape so that they appear to be flying. 

The sentiment is from Savvy stamps.All green card stock is from Bazzil.and the ivory pearls are from Kaisercraft.

The flower stamp is a retired one from The Angel Company called Pretty Posies and colored with Copic markers in B63 and BV13.

The polka dots are done using the BV13 marker on the stamp (Collage elements by CHF) and then misted with rubbing alcohol. I also colored the white satin ribbon with the same marker. To tie the double bow I used the Bow Easy tool.

All shades of purple cardstock are from Bazzill.

Hydrangeas

Hello everyone! I got a chance to complete this weeks card sketch over at SCS and this is what I came up with.

The Hydrangea stamps are long ago retired from The Angel Company. I colored them with shades of blue Copic Markers, cut them out with my square nesties and then layered them with enchanted evening blue cardstock from PTI. The designer paper is from Making Memories. The softness of the dp went so well with these bright bold flowers.

I decided to color another of the bigger hydrangeas and cut out a few of the petals so that I could pop it up with foam tape to add some dimension. I colored a few smaller pearls with a yellow Copic marker and used them for the center of the flowers. Finally decided to stick three more white pearls to the top right hand corner to finish the card off.

Boxwood stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes designs. I stamped it in Memento Bamboo ink twice and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

The light green card stock was ran through the argyle cuttlebug embossing folder. All cardstock is from Bazzill. I decided to add a bit of bling, even though this is suppose to be a masculine card. The five gold nail heads are really called studs and are from Prima.

Sentiment is from the "Enjoy Nature" stamp set from The Angel Company.

Go Green Angel Blog Hop

Go Green
The Angels over at Paper Wings have been charged with creating some GREEN themed projects. From the color green, to St. Patrick's day cards, recycling or re-purposing items, etc. I needed a card of encouragement for my step sister since she's having marital problems and used the color green.

Stamp is from the set "pick of the patch" and it's colored using Copic markers. The labels 1 set from Spellbinders was used to cut the main image out and it's green layer. I also cut the designer paper out with it and then ran it through the scalloped border punch and adhered it to the top. The sentiment is cut out using the tag nestability and attached with a button and scrappers floss.

I think the paper is from HOTP but it's been in my scrap stash for so long that I'm not 100% positive.

If you all haven't heard, The Angel Company is carrying Spellbinders Nestabilities labels 1, 3, 4, 5, 9 and large labels. Fun, fun and more fun!

I really like how this card came out! Very cute and quick to get done! It definitely brought a smile to my step sisters face when she really needed cheering up!

With Sympathy

I had a co-worker who just lost his Mom. I don't have any Sympathy cards in my stash, so I had to quickly make one up to get in the mail today.

The flower stamp is from Victorine Originals and is stamped using the marker and huff method. I did use the yellow glaze gel pen from Sakura to put some centers in the flowers. The sentiment comes from Paper Trey Ink (Through the Trees set) and is stamped in Palette Noir.

Labels 8 is used to cut out the main image and the purple border. The designer paper in the back ground is from Current's paper crafting line. I added a bit of lavender grosgrain ribbon over the purple die cut and DP before adhering it to the card base. Self adhesive Pearls from K&Company were added to each side to finish this off.

So, how many times do think it took me to get the flowers "just right" for this card? Do you strive for perfection (or something close to it) when you stamp? Leave me a comment and tell me your story and try to guess how many times I stamped the flowers before I was satisfied. Talk about a waste of paper! ;-)

Cupcake

Here's a quick card I threw together for a friend's birthday. I used some of the pink paper I made using the varnished alcohol technique (see post below for link to the instructions) and paired it with a visually scrumptious looking cupcake for a clean and simple card.

The cupcake was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Markers. All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Using the same pink Copic marker I colored a bit of satin ribbon and placed it behind the sentiment panel. Card base is a chocolate brown to match the chocolate cupcake! I just had to finish off with some pink rhinestone bling from Kaisercraft.

I can just image my teeth hurting from all this sweetness! (grin) Thanks for stopping by and have a cupcake kind of day!

I used my varnished alcohol technique (click here to learn more) on the pink panels. The alcohol inks used were Cranberry, Shell Pink and Pearl. The pearl really gave it a shimmery effect.

Stamps and green polka dot paper are from Papertrey Ink. I colored the center flower with Copic markers and layered it to the off white bigger flowers. I didn't realize that I had two of the bigger flowers stuck together until I had adhered it to the card. Once I figured that out, I used a piercing tool to un-stick them and fanned them out and curled the top layer up. A rhinestone brad and mint green organdy ribbon finishes off this embellishment. I don't usually put a lot of flowers on my cards or projects - I have loads of them but they are out of my line of sight so I tend to forget about them.

Added a few more rhinestones for a bit of bling. Obviously this is not a traditional Valentines Day card, but it was fun adding in that splash of green! What do you think?

Driving by.....

Here's one I just completed with the new stamp set "Bug of Fun" found in the new Serendipity Street Magalogue.

The bug and girl are colored with Copic's and cut out. I stenciled the clouds into the back ground using Memento summer sky ink and my brass stencil. The road is done with a curved cutter I purchased from Creative Memories a long time ago. I actually hate that cutter with a passion because I cut myself really badly once using it. Thought I'd have to get stitches! The white lines on the road are done using a Sharpie white poster paint pen. Grass was daubered on with Palette Jardin Moss ink.

I think it turned out pretty cute! What do you think?

The designer paper is from a old sizzix paper pad from Provo Craft that I've had in my stash for years! That gray stone paper goes great with this car as it reminded me of cobblestone!

The stamp is from TAC called Toot my Horn and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The wheels are actually flowers on this stamp set and I wanted to use this for a masculine card so - I used some extra large silver eyelets for the wheels and put a tiny button over the flower on the antenna. Here's what the set looks like.



I added a little paper piercing in the center of the 1" black strip of paper and then added the sentiment. The sentiment shape is cut and embossed with a nestability. 6 black rhinestones were added for more detail.
