Happy New Year! Let's discover if 2008 will be a great year, creatively speaking!
And to start it off.....here's a fun card sketch to do with some great designer paper! Some of us hoard great designer paper, well this is your chance to dive in and use up a little bit of it! Come on, I challenge you!
I used a light creamy brown (almost taupe) card stock as the base for this card. I stamped the main flower image with versamark and then embossed it using glacier white embossing powder from CHF. Then I took a stipple brush and brushed (swished) on creamy brown chalk ink. I kept it going in the same direction, as I really liked how it gave a shadowed effect on the embossed image. Oh, and don't forget to tissue off the embossed image to get the excess ink off!
As you can faintly see, I then ran it through my nestabilities rectangle die, but you can hardly see the embossing (unless you enlarge the picture and look real hard). One of these days I'll get the hang of embossing with these using my cuttlebug. That tan spellbinders mat should be here any day now! ;-)
Supplies:
Stamps - Flower from SU! Heartfelt Thanks, sentiment by TAC
Designer Paper - K&Company - Classic K, Bazzill basic taupe cardstock for the base.
Ink - Colorbox creamy brown chalk ink, versamark, Palette burnt umber
Glacier white embossing powder
Teal brads
Great sketch and I love your sample. :0)
ReplyDeleteI love your card. I am wondering what size your card is?? Whenever I see sketches with 3 or 4 elements/areas to it, I always think to myself that I would never fit all that onto a regular 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 card, or it would cover up alot of the pretty paper or a few of it's different elements shown off in the sketch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for any info on size, Happy New Year! :) bluemoonbynite@yahoo.com
