New Rubbah !
I just got my new shipment of stamps from The Angel Company's new catalogue! OMG....what a haul! I can't wait to start cutting them up and playing! I also ordered some of our new paper (cardstock) and fell head over heels in love with them! They are absolutely gorgeous! They are as follows from top to bottom: Lilly Anna, Mimi and Hemingway. Hemingway will make awesome masculine cards or do great with some distressing!
Las Vegas was a blast! I ended up coming home with some money, tho not much! The convention was just a crush of people. 16,000+ people trying to wander around on a convention/exhibit floor is not good! We couldn't see a whole lot. The weather was HOT, HOT, HOT (100+)! Thank goodness for air conditioning in all the hotels and casino's. All of us had a great time seeing old friends, sharing stories over a beer or two and just hanging out! Our closing ceremony was just too cool! Anyone remember Earth, Wind and Fire? Well, they performed for us as the grand finale! Wow, did that bring back memories!
I will be on a week long camping and fishing trip and guess what? I'm taking my new Rubbah with me! While DH is out fishing, I get to play with my new stamps! What a treat! So, look for new card samples and sketches when I get back! Have a great week!

In Memory
My mother just passed away on Monday July 16th. She lead a very full and rewarding life. She suffered in the last few years due to the effects of living with diabetes for 30+ years. Her kidneys just gave out and she ended up dieing of congestive heart failure.
What I loved most about my mom is that fact that she had such a great sense of humor! and wow, she was the best listener....she could just sit and talk and listen for hours. She was the best cook, and my Dad has always said that's why he married her! The one thing that drove me nuts about my mom, was the simple fact that she was just so darn talented when it came to Cross Stitch, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She taught me how to do everything, but I couldn't grasp the patients for doing those things. I guess that's why I turned to stamping and scrapbooking!
The card you see above was one I made for her for Mother's day. I ended up putting this in her casket at the funeral, that way she will always have it with her.
Thank you to all my friends over at A Shade of Blue for all your thoughts and prayers! It meant the world to me!
I will be off to Las Vegas for a couple of days. I'm looking forward to the heat, air conditioning, meeting up with old friends and of course the gambling!

Card Sketch #6
Here's my latest card sketch. I did this one for the technique lovers challenge on SCS. This technique is called Tapestry which is new to me and lot of fun to do. I chose to use colorbox pigment inks in mint and sky blue for the background. I also used white pigment ink and versamark to stamp my dragonfly in. Then I used clear embossing powder all over it to get the effect in the background.
The dragonflies and the sentiment are from The Angel Company (swirly wings & tag tidbits), and the paper is DCWV.

Card sketch #5
I think you've only seen three of my sketches, but in truth I've done five of them. These have been fun and challenging for me to do.
Here's my latest design.
I used paper from the amethyst collection from Hot Off The Press, specifically the two purple background papers. The "Dream" paper I ran through my cuddlebug using the stylized flowers embossing die. I used the gradient purple paper for the trapezoids, and my marvy scalloped punches for the centers. The dark purple paper is Bazzill basic's.
The stamp is from pretty posies from The Angel Company. I used my prismacolor pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits to color the image, and popped these up with dimensionals so that they stood out. I also used two different colored brads (both purple) to add further dimension to the ends of the trapezoids.

More scrapbook pages
Here are a few more pages that I've completed from our camping trip the last weekend in June.
Page #1 is from our hike we took through the woods. It was actually a short one because you're not suppose to take your dogs on the trail. Wow, was it gorgeous in the interior of the forest. We ran across this really neat bridge and steps up the side of the hill, which obviously had been there a while. The nurse stump with the notches cut into it was way cool too. This is left over from when they were logging this area long ago.
Page #2 features our best friend, Dylan. Dylan is a mix between a Siberian husky and a golden retriever. He absolutely loves being in the water and goes every where with us.
Page #3 is how I saw nature at its finest that weekend.
All paper is from DCWV and Daisy D's. Stamps used through out are from The Angel Company, except the hiking boots (CTMH) which are actually a photocopy, blown up and cut out.

Another card sketch
Here's another card sketch that I did recently. I'm including my scan of the word document that I drew this up on and my finished project. The designer paper is by K&Company and it's matted on Bazzill cardstock. The stamped image is from The Angel Company, called Love and Joy. I used colorbox sky blue pigment ink for the flowers and green for the leaves. The sentiment is actually longer than just the "Love and Joy" so I just used my black marker to do just those words. I used my marvy square punches so that they nested together well. Getting the angles just right took some doing and they are upside down in my scan! Anyway, enjoy and have a great week!

Waterfall fold scrapbook page
Ok, up until now all I've posted are cards, so I thought I would share with you my latest scrapbook page.
I got this cool idea off of the scrapbook lounge and had to give it a try. It's a waterfall fold that I have added to my page. Hit the link and watch the webisode for all the details, this is an easy and fun technique!
The theme of the page is "Down Time". This was our latest camping trip and my DH spent some serious time fishing, in other words his down time! I don't have my license yet, so I watched the dog and read a book while he tried to catch the big one. It's a catch and release river, so I didn't have to worry about cleaning, cooking or eating any fish! YEA! All I've yet to do is journal on the waterfall folds.
I used my cuddlebug embossing folder to emboss the background for the die cut letters(cuddlebug Olivia alpha) of the title. The words stamped on the waterfall folds are Live Inspired from The Angel Company. All paper is DCWV.

Embossed Daisy
Happy 4th of July!
This is my card I did for card sketch #131 on SCS. I embossed my main image with my cuddlebug after I colored it with my prismacolor pencils. The designer paper is from K&Company. The main cardstock is bazzill. Daisy is from the flowery fun set from The Angel Company.
I was recently tagged by Mercy Kerin and I'm suppose to tell 7 random things about myself. So, here we go...
1. I'm addicted to the card sketch challenges at SCS and ASB. duh...like you all don't know that one already. LOL
2. I have a secret that I can't reveal until about a month from now...stay tuned.
3. I have ketchup in my veins. That's what us tenured upper management folks tend to say when asked why we've worked for McDonald's for so long. I've been at it for 28 years.
4. My dh thinks that I'm a computer guru...when in fact I just use my common sense. He thinks that I can fix all of his major mess ups, when in fact, he just needs to use the brain he was given and work things out for himself. LOL !!!!
5. I have a 4 legged, furry child named Dylan.
6. I'm a classic rock kind of gal.
7. I'm in the process of scrapbooking our camping trip from last weekend. Once done, I'll post the pictures here.
Now, I'm suppose to tag 7 people. But, I'll have to get back to this later.
Hope you all had a great 4th with family and friends!

Window box
Another card made for SCS card sketch challenge. This one I colored using my prisma colored pencils and OMS. I stippled on some creamy brown chalk ink by colorbox to the perimeter of the card and then matted it a couple of times using Bazzill card stock. The stickers are outline stickers from HOTP. I used my window word punch and added some brads to the right side and called it good. The window box image is from The Angel Company called southern belle.
