Sketch challenge - birthday ginkos

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is the use the following graphic.

It was really cloudy outside when I took this photo. The layering and the fishtail banner is a dark green cardstock, however it looks black here. Bummer, but it will work for a masculine card for my stash.

There's a new challenge every week over at  The House That Stamps Built, and you don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps to link up or win. Also, for my blog readers: Enjoy the 10% discount code to the Repeat Impressions Store posted on the sidebar.

Thanks for stopping in.

Feel better soon!

Hi all. Playing in the One Lay Challenge of off center over at Less is More today.

Stamps are from Technique Tuesday's Greenhouse Society, however the sentiment is from a different set than the daffodils. I used versafine ink to stamp, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder in order to use Copic's to color with.

I chose to use daffodils on this because mine are already coming up! Go figure, huh? Climate warming is real. Yikes! Thanks for stopping by!

Pick of the week - masking

Hi everyone. Laurie here and it's my turn to do a pick of the week. I'm doing a bit of masking using a favorite flower power separate to create this clean and simple card.

I used some removable labeling tape to mask off the area I wanted to stamp. Then I used a T ruler and hand drew lines across the top and bottom. Added a bit of sparkle to the center of the flowers using a wink of stella pen. Layered it with black cardstock and then added it to a white cared base.

Kept the sentiment simple with "just because" to use for any occasion.

Birthday Balloon

Hi there. Playing in the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches today.  I turned it on it's side and turned it into a balloon.

Die, stamp and green cardstock are all from My Favorite Things. The twine is from Lawn Fawn, recycled from the packaging they send you when you order from them.

I used fresh ink in mojito to stamp the birthday sentiment and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Kept this one clean and simple to use in my masculine card stash. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for stopping by.

you are simply amazing

Hello - I was playing around with yupo paper and alcohol ink and came up with this back ground that I turned into this card.

I added some silver foil to it as well. In real life it really makes it pop. I followed the sketch over at CAS(e) this sketch to create this card. Sentiment is from Reverse Confetti.

You're such an inspiration

Hello all - playing in the Freshly Made Sketch challenge today.

Kept this one very clean and simple. Distress Oxide inks used on the butterflies and the blue panel. Butterfly dies are from Memory Box. The little dragonfly stamp is an oldie, but goodie from Stampendous. Sentiment is from Reverse Confetti.

I used life changing brushes and tumbled glass oxide ink to create the backdrop. I also added some fun foam behind it so that it is set off from the card base.  Sparkle shimmer spritz is added to the entire card for added interest, but didn't photograph well.

CAS birthday

Hi all - playing in a color challenge today. Less is More is ringing out the old and ringing in the new with the 2019 Pantone color, which was Living Coral, and the 2020 Pantone color which is True Blue. Here is what I did with it.

I used abandoned coral and sponged on the band of color onto a piece of Bristol paper. Cut out the happy birthday die (Simon Says Stamp) using blue cardstock. Decided to frame it with thin strips of the same cardstock so it would stand out a bit more.

Birthday blessings

Hello. Playing in the Freshly Made Sketch #416 to close out 2019.

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of something new. This set is from My Favorite Things called wildflowers. It's been sitting on my desk for a bit and I just now inked it up, so it's something new!

I masked off the daisy's and lightly brushed on some tumbled glass distress oxide ink to create a soft look. Sentiment is also from MFT, but it's from their bitty birthday wishes set.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

Designer choice - childhood memories

Hi everyone. Happy New Year! It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week our challenge is a designer choice challenge. Shirley wants us to create something that sparks a childhood memory.

We traveled a lot when I was growing up - in the camper or trailer. We were always on the road going somewhere.

I stamped the map, travel sentiment and the date stamp in versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I took out my distress inks and distressed them. The deckled die is from Spellbinders. I created my own geo point using a raindrop and a hole punch.
