Sketch challenge - Repeat Impressions

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to the following sketch to create your card.

I stamped the moose, colored with Copic's and then fussy cut it out. Stamped the pine branch using markers that were directly colored onto the stamp. Did the ol' huff method to stamp it.

Used some plaid designer paper from Carte Bella for the back ground and turned this into a masculine birthday card. I giggle every time I see this moose!

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Don’t forget… Take part in one weekly challenge or all of them. The more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. And you don’t always have to use our stamps in your creations, but we will reward you if you do. Each submission using a
Repeat Impressions stamp will earn you an additional entry in the drawing!

Also, check out our Rock Star blogs to see what they did with the challenge.

Rustic Christmas wishes

Hello. Playing in this weeks sketch challenge from The Paper Players.

I turned the sketch sideways. I had to put the sentiment on the opposite side because of his scarf.

Deer is from Simon Says Stamp as is the Christmas wishes sentiment. Deer is cut out using Neenah solar white and then colored with Copic's. Added some clear distress dry glitter to his antlers.

Plaid designer paper is from Carta Bella. Kraft, black and pure poppy cardstock is from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Holiday Cheer

Hi there! Playing in the Wednesday SSS challenge of Food and/or drink.

I kept this really clean and simple. Stamps and dies from Hero Arts. I used PTI's pure poppy dye ink to stamp the body of the cup several times. Colored the whipped topping with C1 and C00 Copic's. Holly is stamped in pine green ink from Hero Arts and the berries are done using Fabrika Decoru.

I used some fun foam to make the cup stand out on the card.  Planning on putting a Starbucks gift card on the inside!

Celebrate the season

Hello. Playing in the challenge over at Sunday Stamps. It's a sketch this time around and this is what I did with it.

I used the window die from Simon Says Stamp to cut out the squares. Added the three snowflake dies from Concord & 9th (included in the build a tree die), which I cut out of glitter paper. That was a chore! The glitter paper is really hard to cut!

Sentiment is from Hero Arts which I heat embossed in silver. The card base is a dark navy blue.

I love the look of this, very clean and simple! Happy Thanksgiving.

Let in snow

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week is our ever popular Anything goes challenge.

I used the snowflakes stamps and stamped them randomly in Hero Arts navy ink on the top 3/4 of the white card panel. Added the sentiment and then tied some silver ribbon at the bottom. Attached this onto a Navy card base and called it good to go!

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Cozy Christmas

Hey everyone! Decided to put something together for The Paper Players warm and cozy challenge this week. I was inspired by the picture on their blog (see below).

It turns out that I have three different mitten stamp and die sets in my collection. Funny how we collect multiples of our craft supplies, without really knowing it until your looking for something specific!

The mitten dies are from Stampin Up! I used a snowflake die from My Favorite Things to cut out the middle of the mitten. The kraft cardstock is cut with a cover die called snowy scene from Memory Box. Sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I did spritz the kraft cardstock with some sparkle and diluted white picked fence spray. In real life it's pretty cool looking.

Thanks for stopping by. For those of you in the US, Happy Thanksgiving!

Stamped in Lawn Fawn jet black ink and then colored with Copic's. The Hi! sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for stopping in. Have a great weekend.

Inspiration photo challenge

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the photo below as inspiration.

I used the colors to create my card this time around. In real life this is real sparkly. Oxide inks used to color the back ground. I stamped the flower background and heat set it using clear embossing powder.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Project of the week - Criss Cross Card

Hello, it’s my turn to host the project of the week.

This time around we are going to be revisiting an old favorite. The Criss Cross Card.

You will need the follow supplies:
Stamps, ink
(2) 4 ¼ x 11 pieces of cardstock in your choice of color
Patterned paper or your stamped design to decorate the outside with
(1)    3 ¾ X 5 ¼ cardstock for the insert – and any decorations
One 1 ½ x 12 for the belly band

Cut your two pieces of cardstock at a diagonal, then adhere then together.

Stamp your outside layers

I randomly stamped a piece of 8 ½ by 11 sheet with leaf stamps in different fall colors and then cut it apart as follows.

From these, I took the best of the lot and cut it down to work with the brown diagonals and the card insert.

Here is the belly band, which will need to be scored at approximately 5 5/8 and 11 1/4 .

I used one of the spare diagonals to cut out the sentiment for the outside of the belly band and to create the pull mechanism for the insert.

Here is what it looks like apart and then put together.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope this inspires you to create this oldlie but goodie card design.

I need to apologize for the off color photo's. I had to replace my USB cable for my little Nikon camera and it hasn't come yet. So, I had to use another camera and it was not cooperating!

White poinsettia

Hello. I created this for the Wednesday SSS challenge of snow white and then The Paper Players came out with their challenge today of white on white.

Merry Christmas sentiment is from Hero Arts and is embossed using Ranger's platinum embossing powder.

I used a bunch of different dies for this. Poinsettia die comes in three sizes. I glued them together and then added yellow centers using Fabrika Decoru . I did one at a time and let dry because otherwise they run together and create a big blob.

MFT stitched square frame used to highlight the quadrafoil square in the back.

My apologies for the dark photo. I used my work digital camera and I'm still trying to learn how to work it to take good photos of my cards.  Thanks for stopping by.

Warm winter wishes

Hello. I finally got this cute reindeer die from Simon Says Stamp and had to put it to use.

I cut him out of white cardstock and then used Copic's to color him. Sentiment is from My Favorite Things and I also used the snow falling background stamp on his scarf.

Wood designer paper is from Carta Bella.

I used this week's sketch from MFT Stamps, seen below.

Thanks for stopping by.

Holiday pines

Hello. Playing in The Paper Players theme challenge today. The theme is Holiday Pines.

I have had this pine branch stamp for years and it's one of my favorites. It's from Great Impressions and I used Palette ink in Jardin Moss to stamp the pines along the bottom.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from KaiserCraft. I stamped it in versamark and heat embossed it with platinum embossing powder from Ranger. I repeated it several times to smooth it out.

Attached the white panel onto a deep green card base and decided to not embellish. The only thing I did is highlight the spots with a stardust gel pen. Very clean and simple.

Thanks for dropping by!

TTT challenge

Hello!

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to use the following Tic-Tac-Toe grid to create your card.

I went with the top row.

I used dye inks from Hero Arts to stamp the leaf image randomly around the white card panel. Added dew drops and then the sentiment. Card base is brown cardstock.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Holiday joy

Hey there. Playing in two challenges. Simon Says Stamp Christmas Gift Tag and CAS-ual Fridays anything but a card.

Tag die is from Papertrey, Ink and so is the little "to and from" stamps.  The pine cluster and joy dies are from Carta Bella.  The '"holiday" stamp is from A*Muse.

The bright red plaid ribbon is something that I had in my ribbon collection. Finished it off with a bit of jute string to continue with the rustic feel of the tag.

 Thanks for visiting.

Happy Holidays scene

Hello. Decided to use the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to create a little scene. I used last month's Hero Arts kit.

I turned the sketch on its side to accommodate the mountain scene.  Distress regular and oxide inks used on the trees and the sky.  Water was spritzed on the blue to create the falling snow. They I came back and added it on the tree line using a white paint pen.  Snow on the mountains is done with Tulip puffy paint that was heated with my heat gun.

 Have a great day.
