Just for you

Hi everyone. Created this card for a few challenges today. I started off with the sketch over at CAS Colours and sketches and then paired it with the photo challenge at Just Us Girls.

Daisy stamps are from Raisin Boat. I stamped them in Versafine and heat embossed so that I could color the centers and background with Copic's.

The lady bug is from the Penny Black set called Happy Spring. Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I used a curved border die from Spellbinders to cut the card base, then adhered the daisy panel behind.  Added some piercing along the curves for added interest.

Thanks for stopping by.

Project of the week - Felted cardstock

Hi everyone! It's my turn to create a project of the week and this time I decided to go with felted cardstock.

I found these really cool coffee cocktail napkins at my dollar store and snapped them up with this technique in mind. So, first off lets grab our supplies.

You'll need a cocktail napkin of what ever design you choose. Plus some cling wrap, white cardstock and an iron.

Separate the white backing from the napkin.

Then cut off a bit of cling wrap the size of your cardstock and sandwich them all together.

Using a dry iron, fuse everything together.  Then create your project.
I did the reverse stamping technique on this so that I could stack the mugs. The top one is the way the original stamp looks. They are colored with Copic markers. I cut the top one out and popped it up using foam tape. Brown ribbon and cardstock used to layer and add interest to the final project.

You can find the coffee mug and sentiment here.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Anything goes challenge

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This time it's anything goes. Here is what I came up with.

I was playing around with some water colors and ended up using the background papers I created for the butterflies.  I fussy cut them both out and ended up using some foam tape on the top one to make it jump off of the card.

I used some distress inks to create the "sky" background and then stamped the sentiment and dragonfly. I also stamped a few dragonflies inside the card to finish it off.

So what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Don’t forget… Take part in one weekly challenge or all of them. The more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. And you don’t always have to use our stamps in your creations, but we will reward you if you do. Each submission using a
Repeat Impressions stamp will earn you an additional entry in the drawing!

Pink flower on kraft

Hi everyone! Here's my take on Darnell's NBUS challenge to use colored pencils on kraft. I really struggled with finding something that I liked using colored pencils, and finally ditched them and grabbed my Zig water color markers.  Darnell, I hope you don't mind. ;-)

Flower is from Hot Off The Press, and heat embossed using white detail embossing powder. If you enlarge the photo you will see a bit of sparkle that is added using the Spectrum sparkle pens. I used the clear one on both the pink and green.

The thank you is from Simon Says Stamp that I just got in the mail. Added some white enamel drops from Fabrika Decoru to give it more dimension.

I'm also going to add this into The Paper Players clean and simple Flowers challenge.

Thanks for stopping in, see you soon.

Kindness

Hello. Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

Stamps are from Purple Onion Designs and I used Memento markers to color directly on them, then activated the ink by huffing on it.

Added a bit of definition to the layers by using a stitched line die. Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

That's it for today - clean and simple, short and sweet.

Photo Inspiration

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at the The House That Stamps built. This time the challenge is this beautiful photo/color palette.

I just love this Moose! He looks so "happy" to me. Stamped him in Versafine ink and heat embossed in clear embossing powder so that I could color him with Copics.

The lighter gray cardstock in the background is embossed with the bare tree like sticks folder for the cuttlebug that came out a long time ago. I also used a burlap embossing folder on the burgandy cardstock to continue with the texture on this.

The Happy sentiment is stamped on the darker gray and I added the "Be" die cut to go along.
