Enjoy!
Here's my latest addition to the ASB sketch card challenge. Stamps used: Flourishes by the Angel Company, Enjoy by the Angel Company and twig by SU. Paper is from DCWV - Once Upon A Time. I added stardust gel pen touches to match the DCWV paper. Night of Navy and Barely Banana inks used from SU, versamark and clear EP used on the flourishes.
Hydrangea b-day card
I made this for a friends birthday that is coming up. All stamps by The Angel Company, T-912 small hydrangea stamp set, and tag tid bits. I used brazzill paper and Palette Hybrid ink in french lilac. I used the tag punches from stampin up and cut the scalloped edge of the card with my new Marvy trimming buddy. JDL, if you see this card on here, at least act surprised when you get it in the mail. LOL !

Weekend Challenge
Over at ASB, there was this awesome weekend challenge of assembling a mini accordion book. Here's the one I did (in between helping DH with the final phases of constructing the stamping room). Please visit A Shade of Blue (link at bottom of blog) to see more of these and get how to instructions! All stamps are by The Angel Company, except the script which is by tin can mail. Front cover paper is by DCWV - Once Upon A Time.
Almost done!
Here's the latest pictures of the stamping room. We got the counter tops on and the under counter lights hooked up (did them myself :-)). Still left to do are: caulking, putting the kick plate on the bottom of the cabinets and the lower desk counter top work area. Then onto painting. Any suggestions about what shade of wall color to go with? I will accept any and all suggestions!
Oh, and btw...can anyone find the alligator in the cabinets? It's in the shape of one anyhow, located in the grain of the wood.

Hang in there!
I created this card for a friend of mine that is going through a really tough time right now. I think she will appreciate the whimsical girlie teddie in this card. All stamps by The Angel Company. Icicle stickles used to highlight the top of the teddie, ink is regal rose and Memories black. I used my lace punch at the bottom and added a strip of coral cardstock to match the mats on the tag and the teddie.

Have a great day!
This card was created for the technique junkies challenge on "A Shade of Blue". The challenge was polished stone. In the instructions it says to use re-inkers, rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. I don't own any re-inkers so I used my brayer with colorbox pigment sky gray ink. Then I did the cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol trick. I think it turned out pretty decent for my first attempt. Stamps are: Stampin' Up - The art of life and the sentiment is from Michael's $1 clear stamps. Colorbox chalk ink in warm green and wisteria were used on the flowers.

Hello Friend
I made this card tonight for the "A shade of blue" card sketch challenge. I used the Cheesecloth background stamp from Stampin' up with colorbox smoke blue ink, the poppy is from Hero arts and the hello friend is from TAC. I used the orange prismacolor pencil and OMS to achieve the colors in the poppy. I used the marvy giga and mega square scallop punches and layered the poppy to make it pop. Blue brads and a ribbon tie it all together.

Learning new things
Well, we got all the cabinets up on Sunday! What a learning experience this has turned out to be! Specifically for me. My DH is an experienced carpenter, however, unless I keep him on task....he tends to get sidetracked. You know men, they can't seem to multi-task as well as us women can! LOL !
Anyway, I have learned the following things regarding construction:
1. Men always have to do things themselves. I married a stubborn HeMan (giggling).
2. Women are the weaker sex. (ya, right) I can carry a wall cabinet up the stairs with no problem. I just have to be sure DH is occupied at the time so I don't get yelled at! LOL!
3. Fat Max is essential! A fat max is a level by Stanley tools. All the cabinets have to be level...up, down, back and forth... you name it, it has to be level!
4. Always charge the cordless drill batteries!
5. A battery operated stud finder has many uses and names associated with it! Some not repeatable in this post. It was amusing at the time and helped to eliminate the tension!
6. No matter how talented a women is with using a hammer, cordless drill, level, tape measure, etc. her DH will still insist that "HE" must do everything!
I'm not complaining, my DH has been wonderful to do this for me. I'm just a tomboy at heart and wanted to do more than he would let me!
All we have left to do is put the toe kick plates on (baseboards) and the counter tops. The counter tops might prove to be a little tricky. I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt to paint the room another color or not...probably will, once the weather warms up! But that can wait till May. For now, here are the latest pictures of the room.
