Life is better in color

Hi everyone. Played around with the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this evening and this is what I came up with.

Stamps are from Altenew. I positioned the into my Nano and used versamark to stamp them in. Then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

Then used Faded jeans, blueprint sketch, peacock feathers and pickled raspberry to blend onto the cardstock.

Definitely a different take on the sketch and my normal way of stamping. I don't feel that my distress ink blending is very good. That's why I can't wait for my oxides to get here! But in the mean time.....

hello

Hi everyone.  Here is my take on the sketch challenge over at Less is More, which I paired with the photo challenge over at Just Us Girls.

Stamps are from My Favorite Things. I did mask off the two tulips in order to add the third smaller one behind.

Colored with Copic's.

The hello die is also from MFT and the slot die in the middle of the black panel is from Simon Says Stamp. It is one of the dies included in their envelope die set.

I decided to make the sentiment out of red as it seemed to stand out a bit more than the normal black. I did cut three of them, glued them together and used stick it to adhere to the circle.

Perk Up

Greetings!  Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.

I did a bit of upcycling on this one. The corrugated panel is packaging that I saved because I knew I'd use it on a card. Love the texture it adds.

Coffee cup is from Simon Says Stamps, colored with Copic's and then cut out using my Brother ScanNCut.

Sentiment is from The Greeting Farm.  Inside coffee ring is from Altenew.

Coffee cup embossing folder is Tim Holtz.

Adding this also into the Anything Goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.

Lots of texture on this one today.  Thanks for stopping in.

Anything goes challenge over at the House!

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to do nothing specific - it's ANYTHING GOES week.

This is a quartet stamp that you can find HERE.

I stamped it in Versafine and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I came back and colored in heart with a red Copic marker. Tied on some thin black satin ribbon and added it to a square black card base.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
Don’t forget… Take part in one weekly challenge or all of them. The more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. And you don’t always have to use our stamps in your creations, but we will reward you if you do. Each submission using a

Hugs

Hi everyone. Created this card for a co-worker who is going through some tough times with one of her fur babies. It also fits into the challenge over at The Paper Players.

The paw print die is from Memory Box.

I stamped the "sending" and cut out three "hugs" and glued them together to add dimension.  These are from Papertrey, Ink.

Kept this one pretty clean and simple so that the message is clear.

Thanks for looking.

Out on a limb birthday

Hello. If your signed up for PTI's blog post emails like me, you've been seeing the whole design team doing their anniversary past, present, future designs. It's been fun to see how things have developed over the years. Today, I'm going back to 2008 and showing you one of my favorite sets and what I did with it. I missed the chance to link this up, but I did use the sketch over at Sunday Stamps to start with.  Turn the sketch sideways and changed up the shape.

I used Out on a limb with inks from Hero Arts and pigment inks from Fresh Ink. I added enamel dots to the center of the flowers using two different colors of Fabrika Decoru. You'll need to enlarge the photo to see them. What I love about these versus other enamels on the market is that they don't leave that point at the end of the drop. These smooth out without having to flick the back of the card. You can find a nice variety of colors over at Katscrappiness - link in the right side bar.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Blue bird of happiness

Hello. Taking part in two challenges today. TGIF challenge and Addicted to CAS.

I needed a bird and some wood. Here is what I came up with.

Buzzard and sentiment are from Art Impressions.

I stamped him in Versafine and heat embossed using clear embossing powder so that I could color with Copic's.

Used the wood embossing folder from Sizzix and added some die cut branches for him to roost on.

I just love the expression on his face!

Thanks for stopping by.

Ruffled rose

Hello! Here is my take on two challenges today.

I started off with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Stamp is from the Greenhouse society by Technique Tuesday. I also get the coordinating dies that goes with it. Stamped it in Versafine, heat embossed and colored with Copics.

Added some Fabrika Decoru white enamel dots, let dry and then highlighted them with a white paint pen to make them really stand out. You can find the enamel dots at Katscrappiness by clicking on the picture in the right side bar.

The Thanks die is from SugarPea designs. I cut three of them out and stacked them out for added dimension. I also used fun foam behind the white layer on the card base and behind the rose.

I'm also adding this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of Fantastic Florals.

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspiration palette challenge

It’s time for another challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. This week we were challenged to create something using the inspiration photo below.

I used the flower stamps located HERE and stamped them randomly using the colors in the palette above. I used pigment inks from Fresh Ink for Impress cards and crafts which is a local stamp shop for me.

Once the inks were dry, I used a border die from Spellbinders to cut a few panels out. Stuck them on a white card panel and then added that to a mint card base. I used Fabrika Decoru in pink and white for the flower centers. Which you can see in the close up photo above. Love this stuff and you can find it here.

So, what are you waiting for?!

Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations!
