Rustic holiday card

Hello.  Today I'm sharing a holiday card from my stash before it gets mailed out.

I went a little out of the box with the color combo on this one.

Tree stamp is from Plum Purdy. I colored it with Copic's and decided to tilt it a bit on the corrugated packing material that I saved. I did peel a bit off the top right hand corner to distress it a bit. Tied some twine around it carefully, as you can see the top right is a bit thin and wanted to bend a bit.

The white cardstock is stamped using the old Sanded back ground stamp from SU!

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

That's it for today. Off to clean up the craft room. Thanks for stopping by.

snowflake wonder

Hello. Here is my take on this weeks Fusion Card Challenge

These colors seem to be the "in" colors this season. I personally really like them. Anyway, the snowflake is a really old die from Sizzix that I had to figure out how to run through my new Platinum. The normal sandwich just wasn't working.

I used a pierced die to create the envelope like flap based on the sketch. It's popped up using foam tape.

Sentiment is from Verve stamps and studio G ink used to stamp it. It's a little soft but matches well. I'm thinking that maybe it should of been stamped in a color that stands out a bit more. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Ornament

Hi everyone! Here is my take on two challenges today. I really liked the photo inspiration over at Capture the Moment and decided to pair it with this weeks awesome sketch challenge over at FMS.

I mixed a few dies up to create this.

The ornament and bow hanger are from Memory Box. I used some turquoise and silver foiled cardstock from DCWV to cut both layers out.

The top of the ornament is a piece that really goes with a Christmas light bulb. I thought it needed a ornament top holder and decided to be a bit innovative and make one.

The silver like sequins are actually cut out using a berry die that went with a pine bough.

It was a little difficult taking a picture of this in order to get the shine to stand out on the metallic cardstock, so I did the best I could.

Sentiment is from the PTI botanical 3 set.

I hope you all in the States have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving with family and friends. I am thankful for all you, who take the time out to comment on the cards that I have made throughout this year.

Christmas tag

Hello - I had this tag sitting on my desk for a week and then this sketch challenge over at the Paper Players pops up in my in box. WooHoo! Now I get to put it to use.

I had a few fir branches left over from the tree that I made using the new Concord and 9th dies. I glued it down onto a kraft tag and then added from there.

The berry sprig is a die from Poppy stamps. I used a Copic marker on the branch and then some liquid pearls for the berries.

Pine cone is made from a swirl flower die from MFT, I just used brown cardstock and cut a bit off to make it look like a pine cone.

Tiny red bow is made using the Bow Easy and hemp twine used at the top to make a multi-layered bow. I popped this up onto a white layer using foam tape to give it more dimension.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.  Stitched dies are from Lil' Inkers, MFT and SSS.

I'm linking this card up to the Addicted to CAS dimension challenge as well. They are celebrating 3 years, congratulations! Thanks for stopping in.

Thanks

Hello - wow, two posts in one day. Multi-tasking is a wonderful thing sometimes.  Here's my take on The Friday Mashup this week.

I changed things up a bit and departed from my usual clean and simple stamping style. In other words, there is a lot of designer paper on this one and no stamping. It's from Papetrey, Ink and it's out of there fall collection that they had a while ago.

Acorn is a die from Lil' Inker Designs. I cut it from basic white cardstock and then added some distress inks.  It's popped up on top of the stitched circle using foam tape.

The "thanks" die is cut out three times and layered one on top of each other for some added dimension. I used the Stick it! adhesive to make this easy peasy.

Card base and circles are rustic white cardstock from PTI.

Thanks for looking and would really enjoy hearing some feedback on my departure from CAS.

Happy 50th

Hello. This weeks theme over at Less is More is numbers. Here is what I did with it.

I die cut the happy and the 5 and 0 out of gold mirror card stock. I did use some of that stick it! adhesive on the back so that it would be a lot easier to adhere to the card front. That stuff is worth the price!

I stamped the th and anniversary in versamark then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Before I stuck the happy and 50 on, I ran this through the spellbinders embossing folder. It's from their Celebra'tions line. The pearl cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Decided to decorate part of the inside and unearthed a very old swirl stamp so that I could add a bit of gold bling to the inside.

Now to finish up my chores and start to put my stamping area in order. It looks like a tornado came through. Thanks for stopping by!

Season's Greetings

Hello! I'm feeling a tad bit better with the abscessed tooth. Ended up having to go to the emergency clinic to have them prescribe some anti-inflammatory drugs and some pain killers. Once the swelling goes down I can then go to the dentist. I'm extremely lucky that I have paper work to do at work and I can do that from home. However, swelling or no, back at it tomorrow. Thanks for those who wished me well!

OK, on to some stamping stuff. Here is a card that was inspired by two challenges today.

The photo below from The Card Concept is what inspired me in color, texture and the poinsettias. I kept it as clean and simple as possible following this weeks Freshly Made sketch.

The plaid stamp is from My Favorite Things and is stamped using vintage cream cardstock and pure poppy ink from PTI. The sentiment came free from (I think) STAMPlorations in an order that I got. Vine stamp in the back is from So Suzy.

I picked up the mini poinsettia's at Hobby Lobby when they were 40% off and knew they would come in handy soon. The pine and berry dies are from Poppy Stamps. Used some red perfect pearls to add the red berries on the die cut.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

The most wonderful time

Hello! I'm sitting at home waiting for the clinic to call me back. I have a very swollen face from a tooth that is acting up. Hurts like the dickens and the dentist won't see me until the swelling goes down. Pft! Health care is so frustrating right now!

Anyway, enough of my rant, here is my take on the CAS Christmas card challenge over at The Paper Players.

Stamps are from Verve. I stamped the mittens in versafine ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder so that I could color them. I used B93 and B95 Copic markers.

The heart was stamped in white, but it was really faint. Decided to add a bit of fine white embossing powder to make it stand out and give it a bit of shine.

Sentiment is from the set. All paper is from Papertrey, ink.

I think this is as clean and as simple as you could get, huh? Thanks for stopping by.

One layer Santa

Hi everyone. Yea! I'm done working my caboose off at work (I opened a new store) and didn't have time to be creative. Less is More challenge this week is one layer cards with a Santa theme. Here is what I did with it.

Stamps are from A*Muse studio and I think this one might be retired now.

I stamped everything in Versafine ink and then heat embossed all with clear embossing powder.

Suit is colored with Copic's and then I used Tulip Puffy paint to create the fluffy fur on his suit. This stuff puffs up when heated just like liquid applique and its a lot cheaper.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday wishes tag

Hello! Here's a card that I created for my boss for her Birthday. Hope she likes it!

Flower stamps are from the frames and flowers set from Dee's Artsy Impressions. Here is the link to the set, which is currently on sale.

Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. It came in one of the Greenhouse Society stamps sets and you can find it here.

I used ink from Fresh Ink in shades of pink lemonade and sugar for the flowers, limeade is used for the leaves. I came back with Viva Glas-effekt-gel in black to do the centers of the flowers.

Designer paper is from DCWV and the stitched scalloped die is from Pretty Pink Posh.

Tag die is from Papetrey, Ink.  Tied the double black bow using tiny satin ribbon and the Bow Easy.

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by.
