Googly eyes

Hello and Happy Friday! Here is my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

I just picked up this googly eye embossing folder from Darice and just had to use it. Worked well for this sketch and looks great paired with the bat from Paper Smooches.

The bat is colored with prisma colored pencils and blend with OMS. The designer paper is from The Pumpkin Patch from DCWV that I believe is from a couple of years ago. I've had it in my Halloween stash for a while.

Added some self adhesive googly eyes down in the right hand corner to compliment all the other "eye" and we're done.

It's been so hot this summer that I'm now looking forward to the fall and the cooler weather! Hence the Halloween card.

ETA: forgot to enter this in to the anything goes challenges over at SSS and WIW.

Thanks for stopping in!

Birthday wishes

Hello! Below is the sketch I followed from The Paper Players this week. I tried to be a bit different and embellished up my tag this time around.

Tag die is from Papertrey, Ink and it cut out using linen cardstock.

I used my Misti to add the stamped border on the left. I've had this stamp for a while now and cannot remember who makes it. I used gumdrop green MFT colorbox ink on it.

The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I picked up the paper roses from The Ribbon Girl and used glue dots to adhere them onto the tag. Leaf punch from Martha Stewart used for the leaves and I thought it needed something "more" so I added the branch into the mix. It's a die from Memory Box and cut from brown cardstock.

The green ribbon was a sample from some company I ordered from. I like the sparkly side to it.

That's it for today - thanks for dropping by!

CTS #133 Be strong

Hi everyone! Here is how the sketch over at CAS(e) this sketch inspired me this week.

The honeycomb stamp is from Fun Stampers Journey and stamped in lemon chiffon ink from My Favorite Things. The Bee is from The Crafters Meow and the sentiment stamps are from Simon Says Stamps.

I kept it pretty clean and simple and just used the white and black cardstock.

That's it for now, thanks for stopping in.

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

Hi everyone! The picture below inspired me to play along this month with the Papertrey, Ink blog hop. I liked the colors in the back ground and the patterned paper found in the picture.

I used the new perfect pairing PTI sentiment stamp that was just released. The misti was used to get it positioned exactly where I wanted it.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft and vintage cream plus scarlet jewel is from PTI.

Now the butterfly. It is a chipboard laser die cut from Bo Bunny. I colored it with the black Ciao Copic marker. To get the shine, I added some glossy accents, let it dry and then bent the wings a bit. It's attached with a clear 3D dot.

ETA: Forgot to add this to SSS sparkle and shine challenge this week. Doing so now.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping in.

Hello

Hi everyone! Here is my take (after many attempts) on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

When I saw this sketch I had something different in mind.

No matter what I did, something went wrong with the first several attempts. It wasn't straight, the blue's didn't match, you name it, it went wrong. Never meant to be, I guess. So, I scrapped it (translated: wadded up, torn up and thrown away violently) and went with this one instead.

I think coloring the flowers with Copic's calmed me down enough to let the mojo flow. LOL!

Flower stamps are from Stamplorations called blooming buds. The "hello" is from The paper studio.

I used the plaid embossing folder from Provo Craft in the back ground to give this a bit of texture. It's popped up off the card base with foam tape.

Dusted off the rectangle and tag dies from Spellfinders to cut out the main image and that little tag. Bow Easy made it easy (pft) to tie that tiny bow. ;-)

OK, back to work. Thanks for stopping by!

Beach babe

Good morning. Played around with the theme challenge over at Less is More, which is "life's a beach" and paired it with the Sweet Sunday sketch to come up with this.

I got this stamp over at Stamping Bella, which is from Mo Manning. She's stamped onto X-Press blending paper and colored with Copic markers.

I thought the sketch was a perfect backdrop to use and turned it on its side. That half circle was clearly the sun to me.

Added some glossy accents to her sunglasses and drink but it's kind of hard to see unless you enlarge it.

Watercolor flowers

Hello! I'm back with a card covering two more challenges. First off it's the "frame" challenge over at The Paper Players and Just Us Girls has a color challenge out. I just bought this flower stamp at Ben Franklin's and thought it would work great for both these challenges.

The stamp is from Stampendous and I stamped it Archival Jet Black ink onto distress watercolor paper from Ranger.

I used three of the colors from the JUGS challenge, pink, yellow and lime green. Gelatos were used and smeared around with a bit of water to get the effect. Added some white liquid pearls to the center of the flowers.

Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. To frame this up, I used two of the stitched rectangle dies from Lil' Inker Designs on watercolor paper then added some tiny square pieces of foam tape onto the back.

OK, that's it for today. Off to finish up my Sunday chores.

Thanks for stopping by!

Chevons

Hi everyone! The code word over at Addicted to CAS is Chevron and this is how I used it.

I dug out my Chevron stamps that I got from Hot Off The Press and inked the chevron border stamp with Limeaid Fresh Ink.

Birthday sentiment is from PTI. I dug out some enamel dots from Studio Calico that went perfectly with the color of ink. I also got luck with the lime green cardstock from Bazzill that I had in my stash. This will make a great masculine card for my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday tag

Hello everyone. I saw the tag that Darnell created for the Tag You're It! challenge and was inspired to play along.  This also plays into the Wednesday "Get in Shape" challenge over at Simon Says Stamps.

I used the round tag die #4 from Papertrey, Ink to cut out the sparkly purple cardstock and a piece of vellum.

Sentiment and flower stamps are also from PTI. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Flowers are done with Marvy markers and the huff method. I was actually surprised at how well the flowers came out.

Purple bakers twine is from the Ribbon Girl who is located over across the pond.

Snowflake trio

Hello! Here is a card that follows this weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

Sentiment and cardstock are from PTI. I stamped the sentiment in navy fresh ink onto a piece of linen cardstock, then ran it through the snowflake embossing folder from Taylored Expressions.

I used the large and medium dies from MFT to cut out the blue snowflakes. Added some white home made pearls onto the centers (they really go well with the embossed dots) and called it good.

If I had to do this over I think I would stamp the sentiment in black. I'm not to fond of the navy.

Ruff day?

Hello! Two posts in one day. WooHoo! I combined the freshly made sketch with the furry friends challenge over at SSS to come up with this one.

Stamps are from Paper Smooches and stamped in Chocolate brown colorbox ink.

Dusted off the sanded back ground stamp from Stampin Up! to use in back ground as it plays real well with the sentiment, tongue in cheek.

Brown gingham ribbon is from Offray and all other cardstock is from PTI.

Off to have dinner out! Thanks for stopping by!
