Winter scene

Hello! I made this for the sketch challenge going on over at CAS colors and sketches, you can find the link here.

Instead of using the oval as the focus point I went with the tree. Which is stamped on vellum and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I just fussy cut it out and popped it using foam tape. Stamp is from Stamps by Judith.

The border die is from Frantic Stampers. I added foam tape onto the back of this so that it stands out a bit from the snow scene. The snow flying around is done using versamark, white embossing powder and an old stamp from The Angel Company.  Sentiment is from PTI.

I'm not sure I'm liking my choice of cardstock for the base. It's a blue gray and if I do this again, I think I'll go with a truer blue.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Laurie,

Your Christmas card is stunning! I love how you did the sketch challenge. The blue gray card compliments your pretty white tree!

Laurie, this is fantastic! I love the dimension and the shimmer you've given this scene. The background color you chose is perfect for a winter sky.
