Hooray!

Hi everyone! I had a bit of time yesterday and thought I'd play in this weeks CAS-ual Friday Challenge. This week is Hunger Games - which means using an arrow!

I had to search through all my stamps to find an arrow, but finally came across this one from PTI. I also used the ticket border die to cut the ticket out. Navy ink from A*Muse used on the arrows.

Designer paper is from Authentique. I cut out a star to dangle off of the red bakers twine to match up with the star in the DP and the red stamped center one. Navy satin ribbon hides the seam between the two pieces of DP.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

You are in my thoughts

Hi everyone! Here's a digi from Tiddly Inks that I had a blast coloring!

I used PTI's white cardstock to print on and then waited a day to color with Copic's.

The designer paper is from TAC and might still be available over at Red Rubber Designs. I used the Tessatina border from Memory Box under the DP to jazz things up a bit.

Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

Thanks for stopping in!

PTI blog hop - touch of gold birthday card

Hi everyone! I decided to participate in this month's PTI blog hop touch of gold. Here is the picture announcing the hop.

Here is what I did with it! I'm liking the different texture on this, but I think I have more than a touch of gold!

Stamps are from PTI and I used Versamark and gold embossing powder to create the touch of gold.

The left hand border is cut out of a 12 x 12 Color Me gold sampler pack from Hot Off The Press. I've had the gold wire mesh in my drawer forever and decided to cut it to use on this card. The Happy Birthday panel is popped up using foam tape.  I decided to do a bit of gold embossing on the inside of the card to match the front. I just inked up the top part of the stamp instead of the whole thing to make the border. All cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

Thanks for dropping in!

Fudgesicles!

Hi everyone! As I was on the airplane going to San Diego, I was flipping through my new HGTV magazine until I could boot up my Ipad. Anyway, I came across this sweet little ice pop garland that was on the freebies page. (it actually is a kit and costs $12.50 from paper-source.com) I earmarked it thinking that I could make something similar but smaller to put on a card. Well, here is what I came up with.

This has no stamping on it whatsoever! Sentiment is computer generated. I used the smallest My Favorite Things rounded banner die to cut out three fudgesicles using dark chocolate cardstock.

I didn't have any popsicle sticks so I decided to head on over to the dollar store. As I was leaving with my package, I glanced down at the ground and what is staring up at me? I long wooden coffee stir stick - and a skinny one at that. I walked by it at first, then thought better and went and picked it up. I gave it a good wash once I got home! Had to get rid of the yukky germs! Ok, so as I begin to assemble the fudgesicles, I realize that the bigger sticks are just that, too big. So at this point I'm really glad that I picked up that stir stick. I broke it into three pieces and used an nail file to sand the one with the jagged broken end. Not bad!

At this point I had a thought -  the fudgesicles that I grew up eating had grooves in them. So I got out my stylus and made the grooves.

Fishtail banner die from MFT was used to cut the sentiment out. I layered it with the same dark chocolate cardstock and added three tiny gold pearls. The brown designer paper is from Making Memories. All cardstock is from PTI.

So, what do you think of my inspiration piece? It's funny where our ideas come from. Thanks for stopping in!

Thank you - Mojo #298

Hi again! I think I'm in a summer mood - might be because the sun just came out (it's 3:00 PM) and it's supposed to be nice this weekend! Anyway, here's my take on Mojo Monday's #298 sketch .

Watermelon stamp is an old one I got from Wildflower stamps ages ago. It's a clear stamp so I was able to line up the rind, fruit and seed really easily. I used Fresh Ink from Impress in Limeade and Pink Lemonade and then stamped the seeds in Versafine. The Thank You sentiment is from Verve.

Pink designer paper is from Lasting Memories. Lime green cardstock is from Bazzill and I used the pennant trim die from Verve for the right hand side.

Scrappers floss was used to tie the white stain ribbon together before adding the bow. I decided to twirl the ends with my piercing tool instead of just cutting them off. Bow was created using the Bow Easy.

I'm also entering this card into the Summer Fruits challenge over at Simon Says Stamp!

Have a great weekend!

Time to relax!

Happy first day of Summer! I thought I'd share this card to get you excited about relaxing in the sun!

Stamp is called little umbrella from Mo Manning (purchased through Stamping Bella) and colored with Copics. I also sponged on some summer sky memento ink for the sky!

The sentiment did come with the stamp and I think it's so very true!! All cardstock is from Papertrey, Ink.

I hope you find time to relax this weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Love you

Hello all! Sharing another digi stamp card today! This one is going to make a cute anniversary card for DH in September!

Digi stamp is called geeky love by Make it Crafty. I colored them with Copic's and used a square nestie to cut it out.

The fishtail banners were cut out and then embossed to add some texture. Sentiment is from Verve and cut out using their label die. Added two tiny gold pearls for some bling and were done!

CAS presents

Hi everyone! I'm in San Diego CA attending a business meeting for the next couple of days and thought I'd schedule a few posts while I'm gone. Here's a quick CAS special occasion card.

This is a Digi stamp that I colored with Copic markers. My apologies, but I can't remember where I got this digi from.  Sentiment is from Papertrey, Ink.

I added the polka dots onto the pink present with a white Sharpie paint pen. The white panel is popped up using foam tape onto the blue card base. I also lined the inside of the card with a piece of white copy paper.

Thanks for stopping by!

FMS#90 - Bright orange poppies

Hi all! Here's my take on this weeks Freshly Made Sketch #90. Get your sunglasses out, this one is bright!

Stamp is from The Cat's Meow (link to site in post below). I stamped it in Versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Copic markers in Y35, Y38 and G21, G24 used to color.

The tangerine designer paper is from PTI and the lime green is from Bazzill. The button was airbrushed using Y38 and then I added the polka dots using Rangers white enamel.  At the last minute I decided to add the paper piercing along the outside of the green panel for some interest.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

What's the buzz?

Hi everyone! I just got my new stamps from The Cat's Meow and had the perfect opportunity to use them with this weeks sketch from CASe this Sketch!

I've got plenty of hexagon stamps, but I just loved the sentiments in this set. Bee is colored with a Y11 Copic marker. I also added a bit of sparkle to his flight line with a stardust pen.

Yellow cardstock is called sugar cookie from Bazzill. Versafine ink used to stamp all images.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

ETA: I'm also entering this into the CASology challenge - yellow!

For you

Hi everyone! Playing around with one of the recent Deconstructed sketches (#103) and came up with this color combo.

Flower stamp is from A*Muse. I used Colorbox Lavender ink for the flower and Versamagic Aloe Vera for the stem. After it dried, I took my Sharpie paint pen and added a few white dots through the flower to perk it up a bit. Sentiment is from Gina K.

Designer paper is from Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue 6 x 6 collection. All other colored cardstock is from Bazzill. Lime Green Divine Twine was bought at Impress. The small Ric Rac was something that I've had in my stash forever!

Anyway - gotta bet back to work! Thanks for stopping by!

Life is like....

Hi all! I colored this a while ago and just now finished putting together this card for the Great Impressions June challenge. The challenge is: "Leave a Little Sparkle."

Flip flops are stamped in Versafine and heat embossed using clear embossing powder, then colored with Copics. I used glitter gelly roll pens to color the flowers and the thong part of the flip flop. You might have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see the sparkle.

I added the yellow Prima flower to go with the ones in the stamp so that we have some form of embellishment on this card. That's black scrappers floss behind the flower.

Both the flip flop stamp and the sentiment are from Great Impressions.

Thanks for stopping by!

FMS #89 - Be a dreamer

Hello! I had a few minutes today to throw together this clean and simple card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #89 and this weeks CAS-ual Friday CFC104.

Butterfly stamp is from Inkadinkado and stamped in Studio G white crafat ink and then heat embossed using white embossing powder. Sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

I used polka dot basics and faux ribbon from PTI to stamp the stripes and polka dots onto white cardstock using kraft ink. My Favorite Things fishtail die used to cut out the banners.

Rustic twine from PTI used on the left hand side and to tie the button on. Button is from American Crafts. All cardstock is from Papertrey.

ETA: I'm also entering this card into the anything goes challenge over at Flutter by Wednesday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Father's day card

Hi everyone! I bought the Gina K stamp set By the sea 2 because I saw so many wonderful cards made with it. Here's what I did.

I cut out a circle using my nesties and sponged on some canary and marigold ink from colorbox.  The crane is stamped in Versafine ink and then I took a black prisma color pencil and added the shadow.

Water is done using Studio G blue inks. I tore a piece of printer paper and used that as a guide for the waves. Using a white sharpie paint pen I added a few "white caps" to the water. The sky is sponged with pink grapefruit, pixie pink and sky blue ink.

I decided to keep the layout of the card pretty simple since it's for my dad for Father's day.  Lastly, I added tiny black rhinestones from Kasiercraft to the corners.

ETA: This card was entered into the Simon Says Stamp masculine/father's day challenge found here.

Thanks for stopping by!

So Happy - Mojo #296

Hi everyone! The sun is shinning, it's warm out and it put me into a very spring mood for making up this Mojo Monday Sketch today!

Sentiment is from Verve and stamped in Garden Green ink. Designer paper is from one of Provo Crafts old biddy scrap pads. Green and yellow cardstock is from Bazzill.

I decided to use some big eyelets for a change instead of self adhesive pearls. It took me a while to find my crop-a-dile! ;-) Button is from Oriental Trading Co. and I added a bit of twine to create the bow. I punched out a few leaf stems using the Martha Stewart punch and stuck them behind the silk daisy.

I really liked how this turned out - what do you think?

CASe this sketch - Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Here's a quick, clean and simple card I completed for CTS#30.

Stamp is from Papertrey, Ink. I stamped it using Versafine ink - which gave me some wonderful coverage!

Designer paper for the fishtail banners is from Lasting Impressions and the lime green cardstock is from Bazzill Smoothies.

I popped up a white panel behind the sentiment using some foam squares and then decided at the last minute that I need a bit "more" - tiny black pearls go well in the corners.

I took this picture with my work camera and had to fuss with it a bit in PSE in order to get it bright enough - however it still kind of looks dark and shadowy. My battery for my normal card taking camera was dead! Think I might need to buy a back up battery!

Thanks for stopping by!

FMS #88 - Congratulations

Hi everyone! Waiting for Home Depot to come measure my downstairs for new laminate floors, so I had a bit of time to play in the studio.

Vintage cream cardstock used for the base and the main panel. Stamps are from Hot Off The Press and Paper Studio. I shadow stamped the flower border using Wheat Versamagic ink, then stamping over it with Archival Black ink. Used a sharpie paint pen to add centers to the flowers.

Tiny black pearls are from Kaisercraft. The burlap like substance in the back is actually a ribbon that I cut off the wired edges to work for the back ground. Black satin ribbon runs along the center.  Scalloped border die is from Memory Box.

This card is for the following challenges:
