The Digi Shack NEW Design Team

Hello everyone! Happy Memorial Day!

We have a new design team over at The Digi Shack and I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the senior design team members! WooHoo!

Here's a new image (which was drawn by our very own Marlene) that you can get on June 5th for a low, low, low price of $2. She has drawn a few of these , so check them out!

This image reminds me a lot of my grandfather! He wore those "wife beater" T-Shirts all the time, but would never be caught in boxers, let alone any with hearts on them!!! LOL!

He's colored with Copic's and the background is done with a retired heart BG stamp from The Angel Company. It's stamped in Palette fresh snow and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

A fancy label from spell binders in used behind the image - cut it apart and taped it on the back to make it fit! Black rhinestones from Kaisercraft used in the corners after punching them with the ticket stub punch.

So, without further ado - here is the new design team for The Digi Shack! A Big Welcome to the new ladies on the team!!!

Small things

Hey everyone! Here's another card I did with my new TAC stamps.

This set is called "Found Joy" and has a lot of versatility! The flowers, grass and butterfly are all stamped in Versamagic chalk ink. The sentiment is stamped in Palette Noir and cut out using labels 2 nestabilities. I figured I needed to finally use this set of labels - it's not one that see's a lot of use from me!! ;-)

I did the little panel on the bottom to balance the card out. I just love that little bow! If you don't have a Bow Easy, I highly recommend that you get one! It makes tying bows a breeze!

Green cardstock is from Bazzill.

I'll be back on Monday with some exciting news! I hope everyone has a relaxing Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy your time with family and friends!

TDS Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! Here is this weeks TDS sketch challenge.

Here is my take on it.

I used the top note die on dark brown cardstock from American Crafts and then added the oval in the center to be different. Flowers are from The Digi Shack and are colored with Copic's. I made them into cone flowers this time around with a brown center. The polka dot paper in the back is from PTI.

I didn't add a sentiment in the lower left hand corner since the top note die took up so much room. I did add a few yellow self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft, though. Otherwise, not a lot of bling on this one!

Check out The Digi Shack site to see what the other design team members came up with. We would love it if you would participate in this challenge too! You don't have to use TDS images, any image or stamp design will work! Add you link and play along!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Blue Bells

Hello everyone! I just got my new Year in Flowers set from Papertrey Ink and had to play with it right away! Here is what I came up with!

It's called Lily of the Valley, but I made them into Blue Bells instead.

Colored with Copic's and cut out with square nestabilities. Enchanted evening cardstock is used to layer. I decided to use one of the same colors of Copic markers that I used on the Blue Bells to color some white satin ribbon for the top. I have some enchanted evening grosgrain I could have used but it was just too dark in my opinion. So, went with something lighter and thinner in width.

I scored two lines down the center of the card so that the blue bells had something to anchor them down. Sentiment is stamped in Palette Noir.

That's it - clean and simple!

I hope you are having a super weekend! Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think!

Blue

Hello! I hope everyone had a great week! I'm so looking forward to this weekend! I named this new card "Blue" - because I was stuck on what to really call it. I would really appreciate some suggestions! I guess I just ran out of creativity when coming up with a name on this one!

Designer paper is from Basic Grey Wisteria paper pad. The Blues within the flowers matched so closely with the Copic marker I picked to color the butterfly. Circle nesties used to cut it out and I popped it up with foam tape on the black scalloped circle.

The big scallops along the bottom are cut out with cookie cutter dies from Quickutz. Blue self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft added to the give it some bling!

As you can tell, I added a white scalloped liner to the inside of the black card base. I did stamp another butterfly and added a birthday sentiment to the inside, but didn't take a picture for you to see. All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Have a wonderfully creative weekend!

TDS Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Hello all! It's hump day and that means another TDS sketch challenge.

Here's my take on it!

I think I need to break out of my green color mode here! But at least this one has some brown and black in it! The Owl is from The Digi Shack and the sentiment is from Victorine Originals. The brown back ground panel is made with a paper bag and some vintage photo distress ink. I crumbled up the paper bag and then swiped the distress ink over it, spritzed it with water and let it run/soak up a bit. Then I hit it with my heat gun.

The Owl is colored with Copic Markers and I also dabbed on a bit of rubbing alcohol to his wings to resemble feathers - not sure if I like the effect or not. Added some yellow self adhesive pearls for his eyes and three small gold studs on the left hand side as was called out in the sketch below.

The cuttlebug leaf embossing folder was used on the green cardstock (Bazzill) and I used the cornice edge punch (MS) to make the tag.

Thanks for stopping by and drop in to The Digi Shack see what the other DT members did with this sketch!

TAC Masculine Blog Hop

Hello all! A bunch of Angels over at Paper Wings are doing a Masculine Blog hop - since Father's Day is right around the corner this works well! Here are my cards.

This one is a CAS quick one. The tree image was retired some time ago. I stamped it in two different colored inks. Versamagic tea leaves and Memento Bamboo leaves. So, using a chalk ink and a dye ink worked really well for this. Isn't it kind of ironic that the ink names end in leaves?

I used my scor-pal to create some score lines. Paper pierced some holes and added four self adhesive gold pearls. Green card stock is from Bazzill.

This next layout is pretty simple too...

Bird is colored with Copic's. The textured kraft paper is actually packing paper from some shipment that I received years ago that I have hoarded. It's great to be able to recycle and be creative at the same time. Brown card stocks by Bazzill and had to finish it off by adding some gold pearls.

Here are the Angels participating in the blog hop. I was last on the list so you should have already seen all of these blogs, if not the links are below! Please stop by each of their blogs and see what they have come up with, and don't forget to leave some blog love! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Masculine Birthday

Hello! Here's a clean and simple masculine birthday card I had to share. (Thanks Heather for the heads up on THS link!!)

The fern stamp is from Papertrey Ink Masculine Motif's set. To get them relatively even across the page, I drew a light pencil line with a ruler. They are stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. Sentiment is stamped in Black.

The green cardstock is from Bazzill and I had to add a few embellishments to the black smaller panel in back. I don't think the guys mind brads much, do you? Aren't they sort of like nails?

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think of my quick and clean guy card!

Little Things

Hey everyone!

I just got some new stamps delivered last night from The Angel Company and here is one of my favorites called Life so Big!

This was completed for SCS weekly sketch challenge.

I dusted off my chalks to color in the butterflies. The one on the top is stamped twice, cut out and popped up with foam tape. I also spritzed it with frost shimmers mist to give it some sparkle. It looks really pretty in real life.

The designer paper is from Current (they carry scrapbooking stuff) but this specific paper is no longer available. I had to add some purple chalks to the skyline on the bigger butterfly panel to match the dp. Everything is layered with black cardstock. The black self adhesive pearls are from Kaisercraft and added to finish off the card or if you prefer, to anchor everything down. ;-)
So, what do you think?

Thanks for dropping by!

TDS Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Here is this weeks sketch challenge over at The Digi Shack.

I switched it up just a bit for this masculine card. No ribbon or foo foo embellishments, either!

This image is a classic and it's only One Buck over at TDS! Perfect for Father's Day! I colored it with Copic markers and then to get the stripes on the lounge chair, I used a plastic template and the colorless blender.

The stripes on the green cardstock are done with an old retired back ground stamp from The Angel Company. I stamped it on the light green cardstock with Palette Fresh Snow and then embossed with clear. The stripes on the darker green are done with Versamark and clear embossing powder. Liking all the texture to this one! The sentiment is a custom stamp I had made up from Victorine Originals.

So, don't forget to grab your FREE images from TDS and participate in this weeks challenge. Link up using Mr. Linky so that we can leave you some blog love, too! Don't forget you still have time to submit for the next design team call!

Have a funtastic day!

TDS Manic Monday Freebie Funday

It's Monday and that means we have a new FREE image over at The Digi Shack. This one was drawn by our own DT member Marlene!!!! Didn't she do a nice job!

I outlined the chef's jacket in the B0000 Copic marker, you might have to enlarge the picture to see it. It gives it a subtle outline of color, while still staying white (if you know what I mean?). I used a glaze black gel pen for his buttons.

Nesabilities Labels 4 die used as well as the new bracket Alterations die. Added a bit of Palette starry night ink with a dauber to highlight. The blue gingham paper is from My Minds Eye.

Anyway, you can pick up this cool new image over at The Digi Shack! Wouldn't this image make a great party invitation for some gourmet cooking? Or maybe a little Italian?

Thanks for stopping by!

Fill this day with joy!

Hello! I've been playing around with some new supplies! Here's what I came up with!

Stamps are from Papertrey Ink (their year in flowers series) called Sweat Pea. Colored with Copic's, cut out and layered with foam tape.

The pink paper on top is done with the new Distress ink from Ranger (Tim Holtz) called Victorian Velvet. Using my craft sheet I swiped the color directly onto it and then misted it with water. Smooched my cardstock into it and then dried it with my heat gun. Then I used the Shimmer Frost spritz from Tsukineko to add some sparkle.

The top and bottom layers are cut out using the new Alterations edge dies from Tim Holtz. That wonderful designer paper is from Memory Box.

What do you think? I think it came out pretty good for just playing around! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Flowers

Hi everyone! Here's a CAS card that I put together. It does have a few layers, but I kept it pretty simple.

The flower is stamped in Marigold pigment ink from Colorbox. This is one of my all time favorite colors - it's such a happy bright color. Anyway, the scallop border is done with the EK success edge punch. A little white on white there. Once the pigment ink dried I added the self adhesive pearls from Kaisercraft to the centers.

The green designer paper is from Basic Grey and I pulled the yellow card stock out of my PTI stash. Added a bit of grosgrain ribbon on the bottom and then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment.

All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Have a great Mother's Day weekend!

For my dad

Hi everyone! This is what I created from the SCS sketch challenge today!

Black card stock is used for the base of this card and for all the layers. The crinkled brown in the back is packing paper that I recycled years ago because I loved the texture of it. I just found it again in my stash and put it to use on this card.

The fern stamp and sentiment are from the Masculine Motifs set from Papertrey Ink. The fern is stamped in Versamagic tea leaves. All green cardstock is from Bazzill and the black rhinestones are from Kaisercraft.

I love the clean lines of this card and how classy it looks. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

TDS Wednesday Sketch

Hello everyone! It's time for The Digi Shack's Wednesday sketch challenge.

Here's the sketch:

Here is my take on it.

I changed the circle to a square and didn't do some of the design elements on the top or bottom of the right hand panel or the top of the card. Just added a bit of bling to the right panel with some black rhinestones from Kaisercraft that go with my design.

The dog is colored with Copic Markers and layered twice with different shade of gray card stock. I used the reverse of a scalloped edge border on the black piece to symbolize a bite mark! Thought it was kind of cool and went with the #@*& eating grin that the dog has on his face! LOL!

The dark gray card stock was ran through the hounds tooth CB embossing folder.

Did you know that The Digi Shack has some free images that you can download and use to participate in this weeks challenge? Click here to see them. Make sure you use Mr. Linky on the TDS site and link up your creation so that the DT can visit and leave you some love on your blog!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think of my creation based upon the sketch! I appreciate the comments! Don't forget to visit all the Design Team members to see what they came up with! Have a wonderful day!

TDS New Image Release

Hello everyone!

The Digi Shack just released some new images!

This rubber boot is only $1 - isn't it cute? It's colored with Copic's and I used Bazzill green cardstock to layer. The Deco Scalloped border punch from EK success was used on the left panel. The designer paper is from Paper Pizazz. Sentiment is from The Angel Company.

I used Photoshop Elements to reverse the direction of the digital image. Colored with Copic's and used the labels 8 die to cut it out. The purple paper is actually tissue paper. The shimmer paper is from Papertrey Ink and the daisy embossing folder from Provo Craft was used since it matched the flowers in the boot. (I paid dearly for that folder - it's a UK exclusive!)

The dragonfly is a MS punch and is punched twice for the shadow effect. Once out of black cardstock and the other from the purple tissue paper. I had to glue some of the tissue paper to some card stock, let it dry and then punch it out. The tissue paper is to flimsy to be cut out with the punch.

You can see all the new images here and I have more samples to show you later! Have a great day and let me know what you think!
