Christmas tags

Hi everyone! I think most of us saw a few of the 12 days of Christmas tags by Tim Holtz and wanted to try a few of his techniques. Well here is a tag I did using the Distress inks and water drops tech he showed us.
I used pine needles distress ink - sponged it on and then spritzed water into my hand and flung it on. I did come back and add some moon glow spritz to it to give it some holiday shine. The Sentiment is a GWP stamp from The Angel Company and the tree stamp is from SU lovely as a tree. The images are stamped in Memories Dye ink and embossed with clear ep. I added a very dark red (almost burgundy) layer to the back, punched a hole, used the crop a dile to add the big eyelet (TAC) and add the grosgrain ribbon.

This one was done with Alcohol inks. I used stonewashed, denim, pearl and blending solution. Added them all together randomly on my craft sheet and then ran the tag through the ink. It is so shimmery in real life. I stamped the snowflakes in versamark and embossed using bridal embossing powder - it really sparkles. The sentiment is from TAC called I love snowmen (retired) and the snowflake is also from TAC called Christmas postage (retired). I punched out some snowflakes and added some pearls from Kaiser crafts and stuck them on the tag to add some dimension. Some silver ribbon is tied to the top of the tag.

It was really fun to play with some of these techniques. So many ideas - so little time! Thanks for the inspiration, Tim!!!

Those are great! I have distressing inks but haven't had a clue how to use them. I've seen his 12 days of Christmas but I'm not brave enough to try them out.
