Designing your own card sketch

If you been following my blog, you know that I love to participate in the card sketch challenges at ASB and SCS. I always wondered how hard it was to take the time to do something up on the computer. Well, I started playing around in microsoft word and realized it's pretty easy, if you keep it simple. So, here is my one of my own sketch drawings and my example card I made to go with it.

Stamps are "Flowery fun" and "be authentic" by The Angel Company. The ink is palette noir and french lilac. I colored the flowers, and water in the vase with prisma color pencils and OMS. The shine on the water in the vase is achieved by using crystal lacquer. All card stock is by bazzill.

If you like my sketch, make a card using it and send me a link! I would love to see what other people create and it would be fun to see what they did with my attempt at drawing sketches! Have a great weekend!

Gerbera Daisy in red

Good morning! I made this card for SCS sketch challenge 129. I used my faithful Gerbera Daisy from The Angel Company and colored it with prisma colored pencils and OMS. The designer paper is from Daisy D's. I used my giga and mega scalloped punches and popped them up with dimensionals. I also decided to use my small hand punch to add some interest to the scallops. To finish off the card I added a row of straight paper piercing on the right side of the card.

Jumping for joy!

I made this card for a friend of mine who just made it through an intense inspection, and on a Saturday no less. So, congratulations were definitely in order and everyone on her team should be jumping for joy!

The flower stamp is by Stamping Bella, stamped in Noir Palette ink and colored with prisma color pencils and OMS. The sentiments are from The Angel Company and stamped in french lilac Palette ink. The card stock is from Bazzill.

Flourishes

Well, here's another challenge that I did, this time for SCS. The site is having major problems with its server, so everyone is putting their creations on their blogs. This is from The Ways to Use in challenge and today's challenge was "Flourishes".

This card is called "Dream". Card base is from Bazzill paper, and I used a swirl by The Angel Company and stamped it in versamark. The right layer of DP is from DCWV pocket full of posies. A couple of scalloped punches later....The dream sentiment is also from TAC and the small flower flourishes are $1 Stamps from Michael's. Both are stamped in Palette french lilac ink. To get everything to sparkle, like in a dream, I used my stardust pen to add a little bling to things!

Happy Father's Day

I made this card for ASB's sketch challenge. It didn't originally start out as a father's day card, but you know how things sometimes go. They take on a life of their own. The bird is from the set "All things nature" and colored with prisma colored pencils with OMS. The back ground leaves are from "Pretty Posies" and stamped with Palette Jardin Moss. The sentiment is cut out using the window word punch and is from My sentiments exactly. Back ground paper is from K&Company and the green card stock is from ck. I added some hemp twine to the back ground panel, thinking it would go with the vine on the chair in the stamp. I just didn't like the plain back panel and thought it needed something. Hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day!

A little bit different

I made this card using a layout I got off of Page Maps by Becky Fleck. The paper is from K&Company (classic K Bailey Mat Pad). I used my cuttlebug square postage stamp die to cut the card stock with. I also popped all of the "stamps" up using foam double backed tape. Brads (in gray and black) were used randomly and I even added a clear button, just to be a little bit different. All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Sneak Peek - Beyond Grateful

Here is a card I made with the new stamp sets Curls & Swirls and More Abundance. I used sky blue ink from colorbox to stamp the swirls on the ends of the card. The paper is pop rocks from The Angel Company cut into two strips and added in the middle of the card. I used my giga and mega scalloped punches and popped them off of the card with foam tape. I added some dots onto the scallops with a blue glaze pen. I stamped the sentiment in sky blue on the smaller circle. Blue brads were added for more dimension.

Shine

This card is for the weekend sketch challenge by Beate. The sunflower is stamped on watercolor paper with palette noir ink. I then used H2O's to color it, which adds a bit of sparkle and shine. Hence the sentiment. The brown back ground paper is from paper pizzaz, the yellow designer paper is Daisy D's and basic black card stock was used for the big and small circles. I used my giga scalloped punch for the sunflower, then I got out my coluzzle to cut out a mat to back it. I used a 3/4" punch on the small circles. The flower eyelets are from the OTC. All stamps are from The Angel Company.

Masculine cards

I have a real hard time coming up with a "guy" card. I usually do the leaves and maybe the fishing lures, but nothing really looks good, in my opinion. Well, I used the latest SCS sketch challenge and came up with the following card. I used the "All Things Nature" from The Angel Company. The bird is a meadowlark and I had to look it up to figure out how to color him in. I used my prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color the bird, and the back ground is lightly colored with chalk. The paper is from paper pizzaz and old world stack from DCWV. The rust card stock is also from DCWV.
